FANTABULOUS!!!
You are KILLING IT. Sooo Gorgeous and erogenously complex. This piece has everything in the way of poetic element… the consonance, the alliteration, enjambment, and meter. I’m particularly captivated by this amazing stanza:“Comes ever to my waiting hope,
unanswered, echoed calls …
there’s no relent to this dire need;
too sad, each tear that falls.”The piece is the personification of wailing need and disappointment.

I get this. I wish I didn’t. You bring things out that most of us won’t express. Thank you for sharing, Peter.

Thanks Alexandria for your comment.
Unfortunately, for those prone to self reflection, we are acutely aware of the five remembrances of Buddhism.
Just in case you have forgotten them….I am of the nature to grow old.
There is no way to escape growing old.I am of the nature to have ill-health.
There is no way to escape having ill-health.I am of the nature to die.
There is no way to escape death.All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change.
There is no way to escape being separated from them.My actions are my only true belongings.
I cannot escape the consequences of my actions.
My actions are the ground on which I stand.

” History is repeated on the norm
Empires tumble in self-inflicted greed ”
Indeed!
This society has entered another dieback stage

There are 89 seconds to midnight on the doomsday clock. That’s the closest we’ve ever been to human extinction.
Great musing, my friend.-
Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Alexandria. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That’s pretty damn close, 1 minute and 29 seconds, did not know that one. This old dog still learning new tricks, thanks for the info, I like knowing little odd details, I’ve heard of the doomsday clock, just never knew about how close we got. Your commentary really means a lot my friend. Appreciate you.

I was reading this & groaning out loud as I did. Because it’s so painfully accurate. Am I the only one who feels like we’re watching the world draw inward…preparing to implode? All because those who have would rather have more than be decent fuckers. So instead they destroy everything in their greed. I’m a subdued pissed now, reading this. Yet again, you capture the essence of reality in all its ugly truth, my friend

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I agree, to quote Dennis Hopper in the movie Flashback: “We got two classes. The truly needy and the truly greedy.” I sometimes can’t believe it’s happened, then I have to recall how we got here. I’m surprised how slowly the people are waking up, gotta hope they don’t wait till the 11th hour. Appreciate you.

Oh-NO, Adira! 🥀🐝
If your sweet face should not appear upon my page,
I would feel a cold place in my heart …
and, ne’er again I’d be warmed from your passion’s rage;
nor, will soft words, my sad pen impart.
Ah, Dear Lady-Poet, you’ve, indeed, a cleverly smooth voice, to so cunningly tease a bard and praise his humble little efforts with such feminine allure … your words, though brief, say much.
Besides, I’ve read your delightfully delicious poetry, too, ya know!
Thank you ever-so gratefully, Adira, for enticing my cloudy day to smile! ⁓ Rascal 🤗
