    Greetings from the (W)alternate (You)niverse

I thought it had been a surreal dream or some runaway fantasy A vivid hallucination of the psychosomatic kind But when a portal of blue light opened right in front of me It felt like a vortex from my cortex was compressing...

    • Oh, what kind of adventure will he take you on? Now I am curious.

      • A couple of years ago, I did the NaPoWriMo challenge at DU with 30 stories. I was able to correct my “other” selves as well as learn about my other parallel universes. I escaped zombies, I fought nazis, heck, I even got lost in space, The imagination of an infinite number of multiverse knows no bounds, so who knows how many shenanigans I’ll get into this time. We’ll see

    • Phenomenally penned, Wally. Amazing write my friend and a nice start to the series. Appreciate you.

      • I was just mentioning to Fia that I did a 30 part series at DU a couple of years ago and it was a fun adventure (though I was under the time constraint of the challenge, 30 poems in 30 days). I may take on it again this year but I’ll see what I can come up with this time.

    For Nothing

For years I felt I deserved whatever Karma had in store for me The physical pain, the sleepless nights, the troubles in the horizon For every mirror I broke I joked seven more were added to the curse When I reflected on...

      • Thank you Damian. I think as we grow older and see things in a different way, we come to understand our selves more. Glad this resonated with you.

    The Traveler

He traveled across many universes Trying to find the one he had left behind Looking to catch the emotion in verses Versus the different paths that fate had aligned   He entered through many doorways and portals Through every gateway and wormhole to explore With a...

    • Very nicely done. The rhymes are tight. The story is well structured as well.
      Great result here.

      • Thank you so much Styxian. It’s my never-ending journey of telling stories in rhyme to engage the reader.

    • Beautifully penned, Wally. Excellent write my friend. Nicely done per usual. Appreciate you.

    Fire and Salvation

I love you so much more than words could ever say I know it sounds cliché but it’s the simple truth I could pen a million poems ‘til my dying day I’ve been trying to convey it since my days of youth   I’ve...

    • Well now, this is quite loaded with some serious wording! Not easy I am sure, to carry the rhymes along as you did.
And, it’s a rewarding read, that I enjoyed very much.

      • Thank you very much Styxian. I’ve been trying to have more control over that meter and syllable count the pieces flow, so it’s a little more work but I’m liking it so far.

    • Beautifully penned, Wally. Excellent write my friend. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks Damian.
I find myself more immersed in trying to stay with that meter and syllable count with my latest work but I’m enjoying it.

    • Professionally done, Wally. Each followed the same syllable count and I like the alternating rhyme scheme. And for the meaning, I think the chosen words are just right to convey the yearnings of the heart. 🙂

      • Thank you Tim. I’ve been working more on that lately. I usually go off script or rhythm, or make the lines longer with internal rhyme added with wordplay. I have several goals for 2026 and hope to up my game.

    Haunting Memory

The silence is deafening, and profound Her absence makes the night feel so cold The air escaped his lungs now he drowns In the depths of hope taking a toll   He prays amidst the ruins and ashes Yearning for that burning eternal flame Like impressions...
