I imagine a grotto with the rocks are covered in with orange red seaweed. Then again, I see a grunion run when they come out of the sand, and the eyes look almost blue black

To write a whole poem as haikus/senryus is outstanding! that’s a talent, I remember reading some poets composing few verses as haikus/senryus but not long as yours here, and most of your verses can stand alone as it is. I could feel here how nature is angry and speaking to now world where humans played with its rawness, the old genuine days against the new fake days, at the end the writer seemed to be fed up and welcoming the end if this end means the end of all madness, maybe then a new earth will be born.

This is great writing Nev.
I loved how descriptive it is and how it connects with the soul.
How we all try to live for something greater while time wastes away.Enjoy Miami!
Im headed to Tampa in a couple of weeks!
Safe travels! -

Neville, this poem was an artistic and soulful masterpiece. I felt the aging poet contemplating his life and its direction. Truly a grandly composed art poem that took me to places my heart often finds itself as I grown older. This resonates with me like a jazz song.

This personally touches me deep, words I need to listen and hear today…
“I don’t just look and see,
but I watch
and I savour and I learn
and then I try
to hoard what I find”How beautifully wise this is, I want to try and be like this always but I seem to fail sometimes, you wrote it with genuine and true feelings. another sailing another journey another experience 🌞 🌊 and don’t worry about me I won’t fly anywhere, I will be still here 😁

I just got the thumbs up to travel which was touch and go for a while because of my bad chest but now that I’ve got the go ahead, its all systems go .. I travel to London tomorrow & then get a flight to Miami .. from there I jump ship and head for South America eventually ending up in Chile .. Isn’t it amazing what lengths some folk will go for a bit of inspiration 😎.. I’m so glad You found this one .. You reading this particular little scribble is an honour in itself .. Oh’ and just for the record, we all fail sometimes and some of us more than others .. and also for the record, I do worry about You & wish You were were elsewhere, somewhere safe & maybe with me .. My goodness, would we ever stop writing .. Take care while I am away my very dearest G Girl & don’t let them get you down .. Your mate, Me .. Neville 😎🌻💛⭐🌟👍

I wish so many in my country weren’t so eager to bury history and relive it. Those 2 minutes of silent respect are a beautiful gift for the memory that shouldn’t be laid to rest

We wear the poppies but the message has been forgotten, and reinterpreted, with sinister overtones. War is hell, but it goes on.

Few lines but it is a little gem here, a little masterpiece… You couldn’t say it better, specially the opening, when nature is participating in it, to proof it is the Truth. Bravo ✨my very dear friend YOU😎🌻

“Carved from sheet metal / and painted in matt black” is a striking detail. It grounds the tribute without sentimentality.
