    Pandora's Latch

She was made beautifulsuperficially flawlessimpenetrable, perhaps.Heaven sent, yet I knewall lofty things crashfrom the weight of conscience. The gods gave her a jarpristine, ornate even thoughof human influences. She kept it close, intimately hers-Had vowed not to open itif she hoped...

    • This form of poetry is so entrancing. “That some boundaries are crossed by desire.” Feel that.

      • Thanks Fia. I read up on the story a couple of times, and was contemplating adding more gods names dropped in it. But nah, I decided to keep it mostly intimate between the two. The idea was to keep it symbolic, erotic, but not to cross the obvious language of the obvious. lol.

    • There is so much power in this write!
Each line conjures such intense emotional pull. Like magnets colliding!
You’r waiting for an explosion 💥 that feels exquisite. You had me at the edge of my seat reading this. Hahah.
Phew, this was intense and filled with curiosity.
Loved everything about this and you!

      • not to mention the connection with the name “Pandora”… I was going to take and use a picture of one of the small jewelry boxes here on the(your) dresser. But the one I used works too I guess.
You know how long I messed with this write. I still see a little bit of edits… But I’m resting it. LOL
Hey, it’s no secret where such inspiration comes from, for me to get ideas like this! What!

        Pew pew!

    • The splendor of your poem filled me as I read with a rapturous yet softly and darkly wonder. I could see Pandora with her jar and the first tentative attraction unfolding until that jar of opened and the tempests come. But after the storm there is a truth in her being that is irresistible and compelling in the utmost. I could feel this in my heart and it was a truly splendorous read.

      • Much appreciated, John. That’s quite a comment! I was really torn over whether to write of the result of the opening moreso. But decided to end it the way it is. Mostly because the write became a bit too lengthy, so I felt the need to cut it like I did.
Your comment is awesome, thank you!

    • Thank you very much, Bat. This one took quite a bit of work!
      How’s Gotham? 😉

    • Well what a hell of a comment, Brenda. Thanks for that. I’m trying to find subjects a bit unordinary. This one was a leap!

    • I am doing well, Damian. A recent trip to Texas (to see Del) was awesome.
Thank you for the supportive comment, too. This one took quite a bit of work, and hacking up the lines, for days. I’m trying to be interesting for the reader/s, so any encouraging words go a long way. Thank you.

    Rainbow Gathering

Rainbow Gathering     The northern hills of the Kisatchie—looming!—lyrically, mind you, in a wild, howling, wind-whipped abandon, humping up out of the Louisiana flatlands like great sandstone whales breaching beneath an Arcadian sky! We are out on the edge, the...

    • This is very good. Like that they broke bread together with the Boombox playing.

      • Thank you so much Fia. And I did indeed like how this came out with them breaking bread together. This is based on a real life experience my wife and I had with a rainbow gathering in Kisatchie National Forest long ago. Though the hippies did make a tea house deep in the wilderness area we never found the tea place though we searched for it. But we did have wonderful encounters with the hippies that day including a young lady who was very much like the Missy in this story.
