City Peace
The wind howls through my window
The fire truck siren blares down the street
The neighbor’s heated argument is in stereo sound
The dogs whine in a pitch that rivals nails on chalk boards
Yet I cannot sleep without the city’s peace.

Interesting. I recall growing up out in the country away from the city lights. The pitter patter of rain on a tin roof. The croaking of a bullfrog and symphonic chirping of crickets. The hoot of an owl. Now your poem has got me reminiscing.

It’s funny how I’m disturbed by silence in my city but calmed by it when camping. I think we become in tune with our environment and are unsettled when it steps out of rhythm.

That’s a lot of noise but then again you are in the city. If you didn’t like all of that, you wouldn’t be living there. Cool write Fia.

Roack-a-bye, Baby
I know no other way
the weight of his absence presses
aching…waiting…
begging for his return
as nights close in
shadow draping me in yearning
the remembrance nearly blistering
moments of fierce and desperate
thundering of twin beats
throb piercing me
and I cannot…will not…forget
saturation a constant

Dear W,
Dang girl. This sizzler is well balanced with thoughtful hotness but not vulgarity. You let the reader envision what they want/need with passion and depth of feeling. There are visuals that lead us along while creating emotional ties of love and lust. The best of all balances. Great write. H🌷

Passionately penned, Willow. The words sizzle in their longing my friend. Excellent write. Nicely done as always. Appreciate you.

Hi
I really liked how you expressed the hurricane Katrina, I was in Beaumont when it hit. I was doing my Masters.
How much do you manage. For me life with husband is most prestigious because he enters the life after we become adult. And parents are always with you in any terrible situation. Kids stay with us still we end. I was in depression yesterday why i am suffering i see my own happiness in that suffering which has become routine.

Hi Gus,
I listened to this in my car during lunch today!
The guitar in this is amazing, the whole song really.
Rock on!-
Chère A.,
Lovely to hear from you!A small technical hiccup prevents me from doing what I promised.
To post our coop.
A few days patience and I’ll have solved it.Don’t worry. Your vocals are just fine!
This is an older coop.
And a very successful one too.
It has harvested some 16.000 listens, part of it pre Covid.Kozo asked to rattle windows and doors. And I loved doing my best to get that effect.
Grateful for your time to listen and reply.
Warm greetings from Springlike (at long last) Amsterdam, Gus

Chère F.,
Sorry:
I don’t like contradicting you, but:
Lyrics: Kozo Pinkwillow
Voice: Chris Spruit
Backing and mixing: GusMay I ask you to ask me (as Drieks opened one of her fantastic songs) what I would love to be possible in StarsRite?
That’s a corner for real (not AI) self written songs. Or coops between StarsRite writers? Like this one.
With the tsunami of other posts in audio & video, coops like this disappear in no time from the radar. And some songs like the upcoming and lovely one with Adelphine deserve a better fate.
Thank you for your listen and your work for StarsRite!
Warme greetings, Gus

The country may have its crickets, its coyotes’ howl, but this cannot match the window rattling as the EL train passes by. It’s funny how night sounds become familiar so that you can sleep. It took me a few weeks o be able to get to sleep after I moved from NYC back to PA and a more rural setting. -Curt
