    • Chère C.,
Hope you survived the Valentine thing.
To me, it’s like refined food, it looks like the real thing, but when you bite……

I love your poem a lot.
And (like more often than not) I love the artwork as well. And it makes me wonder from what place on earth it is pictured.
As I’ve never seen the moon in this position.

Any way, you keep surprising me with your work. And I am grateful that you share it.
      Warm regards, Gus

    • “decorating my inner landscapes with hope” my favorite along with that entire stanza.
      Wonderful work crim.

    • Interesting….hey, a thousand bucks is a thousand bucks. I’ve never been one for contests but you never know…..thank you!!

Hope you are doing well and thriving this Friday 13th!!!

    • I’m interested dearest Cipher it’s pretty cool you’re doing this I miss DU a lot I’m happy you are here ❤️

    • Hey both of you…

I was thinking of the logistics of such a contest…

I don’t even know how many former DUP members would be interested…

So I am thinking of doing maybe just an open book contest, not necessarily former DU members…

      Will keep you posted…

    It's Here, Somewhere

    • There’s a quiet reverence in this—like you’re circling something sacred without naming it.
That “there” feels like the pulse beneath memory and mind, the kind of presence that steadies a man when the noise falls away.

      • Thank you Thomas. There are moments when feel something at higher conscious level that we feel drawn to it and yet give it that “quiet reverence” without going into detail.
        Hope all is well.

    • Powerfully penned, Wally. Excellent write my friend, grabbed me by the heartstrings a bit. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks Damian. I’ve always liked writing pieces that have plot twists or bigger reveals at the end. I often think of those who are passing and what their last thoughts may be.

    • Wow this a touching piece. The memory of him building the house for her as he is passing away is sweet and sad

      • Thank you Fia. I was trying to have this piece read more as a Civil War piece but felt that it’s obscurity in time could be left open to interpretation and connection to the reader.
