    Typical Saturday Night

Bloodshot skies acting like a backdrop  Trees sway amongst a whispering wind Redemption glows within the moonlight While destruction lies around the bend   Seductive rivers carry manipulated beasts Who bring war to those considered different Hatred fuels these sinful calloused hearts By using influence to seduce...

    • I guess we all have our interpretations. I see a line of young people heading into a club or hanging out outside it to hear hip hop or rap. Many may disagree, but I see that kind of music as negative and detrimental. Just my two cents.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Tim. So glad you connected with the write my friend. To me every kind of music or creative outlet has its negative sides, as well as its positives. Nothing in this world is exempt from good and evil. That’s just my two cents, for what they’re worth. lol. Appreciate you.

    • “While destruction lies around the bend”

It’s interesting how the word lies changes the entire tone when read as one definition over the other. This is such a cleverly written piece. And powerful, as you excel at, my friend

    The Expedition

From a far off galaxy, the flying saucer burned through earth's atmosphere and spiraled down through clouds and blue sky until it glanced off Oakville's water tower. Careening wildly, it skidded across highway forty-five and rolled into the ditch like...

    The Replacement

Is there any greater sorrow than to lose someone you love? Nine year-old Jenny didn't think so. Sitting motionless on the backyard swing, she struggled with her emotions and wept. My heart is broken into many small pieces! How shall...

    • What a charming little story. I didn’t know how it was going to end up going about halfway through but alls well that ends well.

    • A heart-warming story, Sam. Your characters always have personality that is lovable in some way…even a cat. 🙂

    • Ah, the sweet, gentle world of an innocent young girl (I’ve one posted simply, “Girl”).

      Sam,
You never fail to touch your readers’ hearts, minds, ‘n souls in bringing to life your characters’ personalities (even a cat’s), and in how they each fit so perfectly into your stories’ always interesting plots … and, your grammar is exemplary.

This is a most lovely piece, and I love the surprise ending.
I hope you like it here, Sam … the site needs your “special” touch! ⁓ Richard🖌

    • Thank you, Richard.

      • Ah, yes, the story of the mean old man with the heart of stone resurrected by the hot love of a 1912 Ford. Those cute little machines just whirred and purred right into everyone’s hearts, didn’t they? Another horror story well told, Samuel.

    • Thank you. Yeah, scary stuff for Halloween.
