    • I love watching a good storm roll in but I have never fully subscribed to the “go try and spot the tornado” mentality. I have too much respect for those storms to want to watch that happen in real time. I’ll settle for seeing that through my cameras.
Right before a thunderstorm starts though and the wind is picking up. That’s ideal to stand in the middle of.

      • I have been known…a time or 2…to go chasing. But generally, I stick to the porch with an unobstructed path to shelter at my back. Been in the tornado belt too long to not respect them. In this case, it chased us. First we knew was the sound of what seemed to be an airplane through the living room, followed by huge crashes. When I say we had a tree all over our yard, parts were in the front, parts along the side & part was in back. Big house, lots of ground to cover. We were very lucky. Thank you for stopping by

    • Powerfully penned, Willow. Storm watching huh? I can’t remember the last time I did that. lol. Excellent write my friend, glad you’re ok, nature does know how to put on a show. Appreciate you.

      • It was a wild time. Crazy intense. Enough so that my 35 yr old daughter came downstairs looking for her mommy. Some people still have no power. I love storm watching. This was bigger than that. We were super lucky, my friend

    • Tremendous work. Vivid and sharp.

    • We get the occasional blizzard too. Though nothing like you northerners get. Mostly we get icicles on our ass, & wild thunderstorms. They’re speculating we caught the trailing edge of a tornado this time. Lucky, we were very lucky. Thanks girl

Lady of Sorrow (Preface: The Nightmare)

Before we sped off on our death-ride, the full moon shone through the windshield of Billy’s red Ford pickup, which was idling in the hazy chill of an early spring night in front of our buddy Taylor’s...

    In Retrospect

Is there something I haven’t seen yet in life? Is it something that will be revealed to me? Is this life one of perceptual distortions? Is nothing really what it seems? All this frightens me! For if I made it this far in...

    • Life…so many questions! Are we “living” in a simulation? Not real at all, but a “player” or side character in a futuristic game based on 2025. Another theory is the multiverse. I drowned as a little girl. They revived me and I lived on. But in another realm did I die and just shift to continue on? Are any of us real?

    • Powerfully penned, Daniel. Incredible write my friend, human nature has a twisted side. Appreciate you.

    Alone

I am alone. I have been for a long time. I don’t know what friendships are like anymore.   I am alone with all these ghosts of my past! Memories that I cannot tell were real or imagined.   I am alone with no...

    • Well I can’t say I relate exactly because I’ve always enjoyed more alone time than the average person, but there’s definitely a point where it isn’t what you want or need anymore. There is some value in learning to be by yourself but it’s still not always fun. I liked the repetition, really helped drive the point home.

    • You could have wrote that about me. So relatable! Awesome!!!

    • Great write Daniel

I’m alone most of the time but seldom lonely.Lots of people fill their days but are still incredibly lonely. You can’t run from loneliness so best bet is just to make friends with it…works for me.
I guess loneliness is different for everyone.

    • Powerfully penned, Daniel. I can relate to this write my friend. I like being alone at times, but I’ve went spans without interaction when on a drinking bender, I started to unravel a little. It was a deep rabbit hole. Excellent work. Appreciate you.
