The Time has Come part 3 (Mother) The end

I haven't been home in a while. It still looks the same. The fake facade that everything is bright and beautiful when the beauty is an illusion, hiding all the decay. Anyone who has a heightened sense of smell...

    • Powerfully penned, Fia. Excellent storytelling as always my friend. The final battle was intense. Seems like a bittersweet ending to me. Even in death the mother left a mark. Appreciate you, cuz.

      • Thank you, Damian. I thought about that even the evilest of parents may have one streak of kindness left.

    • Ouch’ that’s taking mother love a tad too far methinks .. Just who’s side are you on he asked? Matricide, she replied .. Just ripe for Halloween my queen🩸🖤🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🦇🦇😎👍

      • You are correct, my friend. I was trying my hand at writing darkness. lol I am not good at it, but it wrapped it up neatly. Thank you, <3

    • A very engaging story.
      Troubling and sinister.

    • good morning dearest Keith Happy Halloween I can’t help but have a heart for Toxie great write ❤️

    • Powerfully penned, Keith. I remember a clip where Toxie challenged Jason Vorhees to a fight. Would have been an interesting battle. To quote Gorilla Monsoon: “It’s the irresistible force meets the immovable object.” Excellent write my friend. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • That would be a great battle. I think Toxie would defeat him. He has so many tactics up his ripped sleeves. Gorilla Monsoon rules! Miss that guy. Thanks my friend.

    • Forever hungry and moving forward.

    • When other kids where obsessed with Star Wars or whatever, I was a total nerd for the Dead films. I didn’t wanna be Han Solo, I wanted to be Ken Foree’s character in Dawn. Started smoking cigars way too early because a that damn movie….bad influence! And I loved it!! Something about the zombie that strikes an internal, inherently human chord in ways that most other horror caricatures cannot. Almost an “uncanny valley” vibe that rivals vampires. Good stuff, bud.

      • Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback and your story. I also agree with you..I disliked Star Wars as a kid and I truly despise it now.

    • Powerfully penned, Keith. Excellent write my friend. Romero was a master of making zombie films. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Romero was also a master in social commentary. If you read between all he horror & gore, he has a distaste for the military & government. Thanks Damian.

    • I don’t like zombie movies, but I love your poem, dear Keith! It’s hauntingly beautiful and excellently written!

    Tongue-Tied Memories

The past sits on my tongue, an aphasic weight. It is not an absence, but a presence, a collection of moments so vivid they have no easy words. I can see the afternoon light slanting across the worn floorboards...

    • A brilliant writing, dear Adagio! I will never stop marveling at your wording and imagery! Especially your creative comparisons leave me awe- struck!

    • Thank you, Elke.

    • This piece resonated with me on a personnal level, I have been recluse for a while and words can no longer describe the intensity of my life experiences, hence I keep them private at the core of my soul, for my own enjoyment.

I enjoyed every word, beautifully portrayed.

    • I appreciate that, Jade.
