It sounds like that life is taking enjoyment from the pain until you shed of the outer layer and reveling the truest form of you which is joy.

The prologue, set up the expectation of what we are about to experience in this story was done well. But I have to admit this journal entry of a story was eye opening. This is an enjoyable read and the vulnerability of the piece is good.
