      • First, the way you displayed the piece is beautiful. Every stanza starts off with asking to be allowed to bring her closer to you.
        This is just perfect

        • A good Wednesday morning to ya, Fia 🌼

It is sooo nice to begin the day with such inspiring words from a knowing poetess’ radiantly heart-gifted pen.
To receive commentary so warmly laid (as Yours) upon one of my earnest poetic efforts means more than mere thanks … you make me wish I had an endless supply of stardust to sprinkle over every grim moment of all your days and nights.

And, you seem to possess a gift of grasping the true essence of my poetry; rare few do … and, it makes me feel special.

Then, I am truly humbled you think this piece is “perfect” … thank you, Fia ⁓ Rascal🖌

      • Ahhh, Lady Adira 🌾

How warmly your gracious platitudes so deeply enthrall a hopeful bard, and what a gratifying honor to be placed on your “daily fix list”.

Thank you sincerely for your lovely morning touch! ⁓ Rascal🖌

      • Wooo-wee! A hot and steamy piece, Richard. Have you written any romance books or stories for women’s magazines? You would fit right in, though I truly know little about their content; I must use my imagination.

I love the way you constructed this piece and then built the narrative in a way that fit within, words dropping into place cozily. You have quite a gift for the steamy side, and all of it fits neatly in the structures you built, like tiny tornados funneling your words and meaning down to rest in the final point. Excellent.

        • Thank you, Syr 🍷

Not only one, but the TWO praise-filled reviews you’ve left for this romantically succulent Free Verse piece more than gratify my humble efforts to write for, share, and please my fellow ‘n lady poets … and, that you “love” anything about it farrr exceeds what could be expected, but I’m keeping every word. 😃

Bless you the smile you’ve made of my day! ⁓ Richard🖌

      • I have no idea why my response was doubled, Richard. Sorry for the wasted space.

The Butterfly with the Artificial Wing

I sit here in silence as I watch my mother go through the ceremonial lighting of the candle. This is not something bad; it is the norm for our family. Once a year, we all, the female patriarchy of...

      • Brilliantly penned, Fia. Into the book it belongs! This was incredible storytelling, and I even welled up with tears, I knew that the Butterfly and professor was a metaphor for something really going on. Powerful ending, the foreshadowing was precisely executed. Thank you for sharing. Appreciate you.

        • Thanks, Damian. I was trying to think how a young person would convey what is going on in their own way. Not all of them come straight out and say anything.

      • Truly beautiful.

      • Marvelous write. Well done.

      Learning To Breathe Again

As I move on  from my haunting past, I learn to breathe again.   From thoughts of suicide and the horrid escalation to attempting it, I survived.   November, 2018 was the worst month of my life, devastating it is to almost die.   Liberating it was afterwards, when I spent months...

      • Powerfully penned, Daniel. That’s a tough one my friend, I have anxiety, depression, and was an alcoholic. It’s not the same as what you’re going through. But I do know how it feels to be in the trenches fighting for sanity and hope. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate you.

      • I truly feel for you, Daniel. I know what it’s like to pray for darkness. There is hope, just keep going, my friend.

There is a song your piece reminds me of.

“But it’s too late to go back
I can see the darkness through the cracks.
Daylight fading, I curse the breaking.
        The day is gone”

      • Powerfully penned, Daniel. I know what’s it like to be a creature of night, incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.
