      • Well..you talk about me musing. Damian this makes you think and think hard. Favorite line
“Freedom’s a fading illusion masked as a tomb”

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I like that line a lot myself. Well, you set the bar high. So I thought I’d better bring my A game. lol. Appreciate you, cuz.

      • You have nailed a hard and important topic with this one, Damian. The majority suffers at the hands and decisions of the few, and in my cynicism, I feel it will always be that way. We must not allow them to distract us overly much (conveniences, sports, politics, religion) or the sooner our end will be upon us. In my mind the song: In The Year 2525, is ever more relevant. Exemplary piece, my friend!

        Keep writing the good stuff

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Clay. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Indeed, “The majority suffers at the hands and decisions of the few.” Distractions are commonplace these days for sure. I try to stay hopeful but it’s not always easy. Appreciate you.

      • this is very powerful it’s true what you say I love this because you brought it to light what everyone knows but don’t talk about ❤️

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Brenda. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I have a history of bringing things to light that most folks don’t wanna talk about. lol. I tend to overthink about a lot of the goings on in this world. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Peter. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Indeed. After all there is no honor amongst thieves. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Angel. So glad you connected with the write my friend. The elite have been fueled by greed and power throughout history. The thing about technology is it cuts both ways. What was once done secretly behind closed doors or in some backroom deal gets leaked because there is no honor amongst thieves, never was. Digital eyes are watching everywhere these days and secrets get exposed by those same eyes meant to keep an eye on John Q. Public. But that’s just my two cents. lol. Appreciate you.

      • These things are so much on my mind these days. My daughter tells me we can’t move or breathe without them knowing but we can’t stop. If we give up, they win and that’s what they’re counting on. So we keep picking at the cracks in their armor and building our community. They’ll destroy themselves eventually. I’d like to see them go down sooner than later. Another fantastically pointed piece, my friend

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It messes with me as well. Every time my phone or computer turns on the camera for a second, it makes me think how long has it been on when I wasn’t looking. lol. I’ve always written about “Big Brother” watching us since I can remember. Even though the name is dated, like everything else it morphs into something else. Even evil evolves as time moves forward, unfortunately. But I agree that we must keep chipping away at the armor. Appreciate you.

          Damian

      • We’re living in a digitized world where we’re being watched at all times for the benefit of others. I can relate. Nice one, Damian. 🙂

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Tim. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Sometimes I really miss the analog days.. Appreciate you.

      • I fear an increasing number of us are having our eyes opened for us big time .. its a crazy world out here isn’t it just .. Great ink Damian .. Neville

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Neville. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That it is sir. And getting crazier everyday. Appreciate you.

          Damian

      • We are controled whether we are aware of it or not, the technology, economy, fear, etc etc… What’s that AI but soon to replace human! unfortunately a Crazy crazy world! But what I believe that after the complete mess comes harmony, after violence comes peace, after injustice comes the justice. You always carry the world on your shoulders Damian my friend, do take care of You and remember that You are not alone🤍

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Light. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I try to remain hopeful but it’s not always easy. I know I’m not alone and I do have balance in my life. Believe it or not the ranting that occurs in my writes is how I purge the negativity from my head. Thank you so much for the heartfelt commentary it means a lot to me. Appreciate you.

          Damian

          • It’s good and healthy to let it out instead of keep it stuck inside You. I hope your days will be more bright and beautiful my friend 💖

      • Powerful and poignant. Spot on, my friend.

      • Damian we are living in an Orwellian society and your poem packs a mighty punch. You write the reality all around us with eyes that see into the machine. Your poem is precise in its illustration of the dystopian universe we are not approaching but are already living in. Appreciate you.

        John

        • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, John. So glad you connected with the write my friend. We are indeed living in an Orwellian society. I do my best to get a peak under the hood of the machine when I get the chance. lol. Appreciate you.

    • This is a heavy song, folks. But since it was Fathers Day, it kinda fits the narrative. Talk to one another while there is time. This one talks for itself. Get ready to possibly cry.

Maybe a Reboot is in Order...

I don't know if I believe or not whether we return for another round once our lives have ended and we've been put in the ground reduced to so much ashes or dust scattered to the winds... or sitting on a mantle   what I do know... is...

      • that reboot would be ideal. To just be able to start over better than how it is now

        • My concern is that humanity would just fuck it up all over again. I think humanity needs the boot…up the backside. Thank you, Fia

      • hello beautiful Willow this has been on my mind of late I think we do come back with another chance at building on the wisdom we gained this round… very great write ❤️

        • I’m afraid there are a lot who haven’t learned yet. I begin to worry they may never get it. Thank you, Brenda 🧡

      • Brilliantly penned, Willow. This is a powerful write with lots of layers my friend. I’ve always thought that if one could come back they most likely wouldn’t remember their past life, so you might be getting a second chance but without any foresight of former lived experiences. Just a theory of mine. lol. I’m probably overthinking this aren’t I? Amazing read as always. Appreciate you.

        • My mind went sideways down a random path with this one, I think. I have to keep hope in place or this world will break me. It gives me hope to think that maybe the conscience becomes more pronounced on things we need to learn each time we return. I also hope (profoundly) that those resistant to the lesson come back as grubs. 😂 Thank you, my friend

      • Willful cruelty without reason seems to be a human trait. I’ll never understand why people prey on each other. Then again, as long as I don’t understand, it isn’t likely to be a temptation to fall into that behavior. Thank you, Peter
