Diversity
Being a city boy
with Native roots,
I have always loved the feel
of cool, dew-laden grass
licking my toes;
the scent of pine needles
on the forest floor;
the way a blue butterfly
will sometimes land
on your outstretched hand.
As I wrap all these thoughts
inside my heart,
I begin to see the balance of life.
We are, all of…Read More3 Comments -

Backsliding into Hell
inches to miles
look how far we’ve fallen
never perfect but better than this
they’re rewriting what they aren’t erasing
stacking the deck in their favor
throw another log on the firesome say he’s crazy
and they’re probably right
but crazy can still be evil as well
and nobody’s stopping his actions

”Your words feel like a cold wind. In my world, it rains when I’m sad, and I can feel the ‘inhumanity’ you’re talking about. If your world is burning, maybe my storm can help put out the flames. We’re both just trying to find some warmth in the dark.”

For the Woman I Love and the Men I Adore
The 6th arrives
with a softness I did not authorize.
It walks in barefoot,
carrying the woman I love
in the palm of its hand
so much,
too much,
more than any day
should be allowed to hold. She stands there,
quiet as a vow,
loud as a heartbeat,
and April 6th bows to her
as if she were the…Read More -

State of Mind:
Dear Danny,
I sit alone behind these grey concrete walls, wondering if the Police really know it all?
Craving just a little male affection when all I seem to get is your rejection?
Write me letters, pick up the phone, need your sweetness, so sick of living here on my own.
I loved you, baby, you loved me, said I loved ya, it…Read More -

Unraveling
I watched the thread,
slip from my fingers,
cold as steel.I couldn’t hold the end,
or trace the start.Like a shadow in alleys,
following the hunt,
its shadow in my chest,
too swift to name.I watched the thread
through the silence. You can only sense
when nothing stirs.I felt tremors pulse
through skin, t…Read More1 Comment - Load More Posts

Very good…. I love this part the way a blue butterfly
will sometimes land
on your outstretched hand.
As I wrap all these thoughts… A beautiful metaphor.. like if a butterfly can sense our thoughts . I do feel they sense those things too. Nice work… Keep it up
