we own our choices good or bad. And for those we regret, we can ask forgiveness and do what we can of good deeds to even up the ledger. Similar to what the Chorus in Oedipus spoke of at his end.
Fate took him in one direction…he attempted to take himself as far as he could in the other before his death.
Really good piece.

I really appreciate an honest piece like this. The inner monologue was captivating. Thanks for sharing it.

Fia, this is series had my eyes held by the gravity of your dialogue that was as riveting as the Red Shoe Diaries tales. Just great story telling dialogue at it finest. And just love how you took me striaght into the biker character and the reporter’s dance of words with him that ended on that fabulous encounter. Great work here.Enjoyed much.

Actually Red Shoe Diaries came out maybe thirty or more years ago. It was a series of erotic shows that were very tasteful and starred David Duckovny (sp?). He narrated it though mostly it was about other people. Not sure where you’d find it to watch now. I saw some of them on DVD that I rented from a video store.

My dad had to work two jobs as a kid during the depression because his dad had died and he had to support his mom.
This is intense but also beautiful lyrically.
Reminds me of the film The Grapes of Wrath. The Joad family…”I’ll be there Ma, yeah, I’ll be there!”

‘climbing the notes to where you are
so high in the atmosphere
and yes I know I’m sky scraping
but damn you are fine’fine writing.. seems you’v found why, where and how: the person has added ‘special’ to everything

Next to last stanza is so-well worded. This quite sensual but not blatant, which makes it poetry that is a pleasure to read.
I also really like the stanza that emmagreen pointed out.
You have a nice variety to your writing.
I clicked that I was mature enough to read this poem. Even though I am 75, I probably scammed on being mature enough.j.

it is American culture to glorify murderers and the good looking look at Ted Bundy the same response was given to him they are treated as stars so why not murder?

I don’t understand it either. Surely we can be a little more discerning than famous (or infamous) and attractive.

It’s not the cover that shows a good tale: it’s the way it makes the reader feel when he/she both puts down the book and – whether or not the contents are remembered
A best seller is not necessarily everyone’s choice!
