    • Love this! Also, great music taste!

      • Hi Drieks!
I LOVE your taste in music so to know we are in tune with our tunes made my day!
This was my version of the song. lol

I’m a huge fan of Queens of the Stone Age.
I’m also a huge fan of Brody Dalle:)

Thanks for stopping by my rose patch friend:)

        • I’m not familiar with Brody Dalle. Looks like I have some homework to do! Thank you for pointing me towards artists that are new to me. I love discussing music. Have a wonderful day ❤️

          • She was married to the lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age. Divorced now but I love her music! This is one of my faves.

            • I’m so glad you mentioned her. I’ve been putting her songs on my playlist one after the other. Thank you!

    • Dark and dragged kicking, we love it Lady

      • Hey Meme!
        Thank you, thank you!
I was in a mood when I wrote this lol
I love females who can kick some ass. Hahaha

        Later gator!

    • An army of you?! The world isn’t ready! LOL
This is rockin! I like the edginess of it, too. It shows a side of you that doesn’t get aired much. The grit and the power-punch lines. I love it! That’s my girl! (Woman!)
Keep that fire baby, you’re going to need it soon! What!

      • Hahaha, an army of me would be fabulous if I do say so myself.
We would storm all the Pandora jewelry stores! Hehehe

I’ve been told I look like other people! Stopped in the mall and all kinds of stuff. True story!

Thanks for all the encouragement and support babe.
        Means the mundo!

        • I already explained to you why people think that you’re a TV personality etc. Because you have so much in common with what it takes. The charisma and personality. The looks, obviously.
Yadi yadi yadi. Don’t be getting all smug and self-righteous on me! Lol

    • Aww thank you but you are biased! lol
Self-righteous never, smug on rare occasions!
Hey I’m human not perfect lol

    • This is a rip up the road poem. A take no prisoners poem! A plasma TV for the ship’s deck matte poem! Walk the plank on roller skates poem. Eat a box of pop tarts in one sitting poem. A half-gallon of chocolate milk in one chug poem. lol Good one.

      • Hahah. I love the energy of your comment! Woop Woop!
Thank you for catching my vibe buddy.
If I remember correctly you were the one who said I have a doppelgänger on DUP!

Roller skating off a plank! In real life I’m a klutz! I’d roll off before I get to the end. 😂

        Thanks for stopping by amigo!

    • Powerfully penned, Adel. Love the vibe and attitude of this write my friend. Excellent work. Appreciate you.

      Damian

    Write You Real

I always knew you existed. All those years I created a loverout of words, to fill the void; That absence within my purpose.-To have someone, something to do with my hands besides write. Someone to hold, long, in winter.Someone to blend...

    • Dude you don’t have to write dark pieces, you’re a lover. The world needs far more light flowing through love than our darkness Halloween pieces. Tight one dude

      • I have a few dark pieces. But it isn’t something I like to dwell within too much. Yaknow? Creative writing to me is also a form of escapism. So I prefer not to escape to the darkness much. It’s therapeutic to write ourselves out of the glum. At least it seems to me anyway.
Thank you, again, for the support my man. I’m probably taking a break from posting material for a bit. But I will still sign in and catch up on some reading. I do enjoy good reads!

    • This is full of emotion and beautiful imagery.
As writers we get it. Totally get it. Our dreams are what encourage us to write. That extraordinary feeling of connection with something beyond our grasp. So we grab the pen and off we go with our words. Trying to convey what we feel in our own sense of style and tone. You never disappoint. Your writing is exceptional because you’re exceptional. You have mastered expression my love. This is a beauty.

      With much love and respect
      Adelphina

      • Well I respect your opinion!
You know that this is obviously to you, about you. If it’s any form of a love poem, or prose, you know that you are the star in it. Because you’re the brightest thing I’ve ever seen. Inspiration is so easy with you in my life. I’m blessed now. I have a focus to look towards. You!
And thank you, for being you. Although we have real life, it’s nice to be cozy here too!

    • If I ever find that special someone, I hope I can write something like this. Nice one, Styx.

      • Thank you Sir Tim.
As everyone probably knows (from DUP world) Del and I were not on that site looking for a personal connection like this. It just built itself and now here we are. Maybe that was the key, we were not looking. Sometimes when we least expect it… so they say.
I do think, though, that creative writing is a very good indicator of “like minds” understanding the processes and such. It can be a lonely hobby really. And timing, perhaps. The right place at the right time and all that!
I’m hoping that your successes become excessive soon! In all that you seek.

    • Beautifully penned, Mark. Love the title, this is an excellent write my friend. I can identify with that process, not always knowing where a write will lead sometimes not till the very end. I knew I wasn’t the only one. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Man, I just get these little visions/ideas and it makes me want to write it out. Yet is obviously never complete until we begin the creative crafting. Then who knows! LOL
I think a lot of times it’s the mood that accompanies that brief vision, that guides the words. Yeah?
Also, who hasn’t written a love poem, or fifty, about finding love, and having it. Whether it’s a current reality or not, we all have been there I’m sure. It becomes sort of guide, too, because you’ve spent so much time thinking about it, that much of it can fall into place.
Thank you, Damian. I think I’m going to take a break from writing new material, because I’m neglecting my chore of getting my book together! Del is much more focused, obviously, than I am. LOL

    • Truly beautiful work, my friend.

      • I appreciate that, Thomas. I do try to make my writes worth the readers time. It’s how we connect here, through mutual appreciation for the craft of it all, and the understanding of a write well versed. I try!

    • Totally absorbing, the more I scrolled down. I found it intriguing to learn of how real you wrote her – how immersing that discovery felt from a reader’s point of view. We don’t always know where our muse will lead us, do we? But oh, how lovely the discovery we find!

      • So true. I liked the title when it came to me, so I needed a write to go with it! The ideas were pretty easy to come by, as well.
Many times I get motivated by things that I’ve recently read, and it sets the mood for me to write.
Thank you very much for the encouraging comment, Kelly.

    • Yes, that perfect lover, the soulmate. In my life she was dreamt of but never found. Like you, I have written about her and dreamt about her. I’ve tried to paint her image, even though I didn’t know what she looked like. Your poem perfectly describes how we feel about that special someone.

      • Well speaking from experience, when we are not looking is when it seems to happen! Our guard is down, our doubts even, etc. If someone finds us, and accepts us as is, then perhaps that is the way it should always begin. Nothing fancy, nothing prepared.
Thanks Sam, I appreciate your positive note!

    • A very brief incorporation… a warm poem… that’s all I needed.

      • it was an idea I had, so I figured I’d go for it and see what I could come up with. I guess like all of us do!
Thanks for the acknowledgement my man. I’m still kickin and good to see that you are too.

    • This is inspiring. Like the phoenix you will rise from the ashes. More resilient experience and wise. Love that stanza

    • How does that quote go? “To thy own self be true”? From Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, I believe. As I was reading your poem Sappho, I thought, who else could we be, but ourselves. We may conform to social norm, but this would still be our choice to do so, still ourself, no one else. I think it is sometimes very hard to buck the system, to do the right thing. Someone or something may guide your thinking and or actions, but it is still you, yourself who decides to do this. In reading your poem, I arrived at Hamlet and thought, who else could I be but myself. And then I thought, even rising from the ashes has consequences and responsibilities. I think perhaps another question might be, are we willing to own up to those responsibilities and consequences?

I enjoyed reading your poem Sappho, it gave me a lot to consider. And it also made me appreciate who I am and want to be. Thank you for sharing.

      Curt

      • Yes it is always ourselves who make the decision. But is it really our own decision or do we speak and act like we do just to please someone else or to parrot common sense broadcasted on TV? In my experience, it can be very challenging to stay true to your real self and speak your truth, even when the people close to you have a different opinion.
Thank you so much for reading and giving your thoughtful and kind comment, dear Curt!

    • Too few essay such thoughts, thank you for echoing truths we are forgetting 🌼

    • Being human is a poisoned chalice from which we all drink. It can give so much but demands a fee.
Your poem goes do a deeper problem about how mindlessly we wander through our precious days.
      Well done Elke 🙏

      • Wow Peter! Human life as a poisoned chalice is a mind blowing metaphor! To drink or not to drink – that’s the question! : -) thanks a lot for reading and your awesome comment, dear Peter!

    • Fun Fact: I burned my feet pretty bad in a fire when I was a kid. It sucked. LOL. It was just one of several shitty things I endured. Yet it did indeed make me a stronger person as I grew up. We choose our outlook. And that outlook finds the path.
Your write is an awesome testament to that. It could be printed and carried in one’s pocket before undertaking a particular task. This is a great example as to why we write. It builds our character, too.
      Very inspiring write.

      • Thank you very much for sharing your childhood experience. Yes it’s true, every person we meet and every experience comes with a lesson to learn for us. When I get upset about a person and what they said or did,I ask myself: which learning task is presented me here? What does the situation mirror me about myself that I haven’t been able to realize up to this moment?
Thank you, dear Styxian, for reading and writing this kind and meaningful commen

    • When the high waves of life try to drown you, you have only two options- to give up or to mobilize all your resources and swim! In the process of learning to swim and standing up for myself, I learned many great lessons about gratitude, forgiveness, and the importance of helping and loving one another.
Thank you so much for sharing a glimpse of your personal experience, and of course for your kind comment, dear Her!

    • Very motivating. The world will kick your butt if you let it. Great ink.

      • Yes but it’s not only to save your ass from being kicked, most of all you do it to develope yourself and to stand upright in your own truth.
Thanks a lot for reading and writing this kind and appreciative comment, dear Nick!

    • A truly magical and inspiring piece of poetry Elke. You have a gift when you write poetry. Nice work.

    • You are a fabulous writer Elke.
It’s always nice to fall into the cooling water.💚

    • It does take courage to go against the norm.
You don’t know what you’re made of until it turns messy.
But that feeling of getting burned is its own form of motivation.
To rise in spite of having the wind nocked out of you.
      Righteous write!

      • Yes it’s not easy to stay true to yourself and swim against the stream, but it’s worth it.
Thanks a lot for reading and writing such kind comment. Adelphina!
