Very true! Like all forms of art…it evolves! Painting, music and POETRY! It desires a response. You may try to evoke one feeling and end up being perceived entirely different! You are great. Poetry will never die! Like love it will be in a multitude of forms.

Don’t listen to nay sayers Tim
I did that with my art stuff
Listened to the wrong people tell me my stuff wasn’t any good
Then I stopped listening and said to myself
I’m doing this for me
Fuck everyone elseKeep writing stories Tim

I enjoyed this. I grew up with trains and hobos, so the subject is something I find very interesting. You say you’ve just started writing short stories and in my book, you’re off to a bang up start. Also, your writing is lean and correct–just the way it should be.

Nice! “Because”, is the perfect answer to why we write poetry. So many possibilities, reasons, inspirations behind that magical word. I agree with Damian. Very clever write, my friend.

Powerfully penned, Tim. Into the book it belongs! The boxing metaphor is clever, people fighting for their life are very familiar with pugilist philosophy. Because it is indeed a fight, and some defy the odds for a while, because they possess a fighters heart. Excellent work, so sorry for your loss. Appreciate you.
