I get my “news” somewhere in-between conspiracy communities and pure serendipity. It’s actually quite entertaining for me with the mindset I’ve taken the last 10 years or so. Suffering is our lot on this plane, to find meaning in the search for meaning and to feel feelings and think about thoughts. It’s a very painful process, as you well know, especially for empaths.
-
I share your frustration and sorrow. It is exhausting, war, division, and the endless cycle of conflict passed from one generation to the next.
-
I doubt by now that there are “sides” very well defined anymore. It always has been right or wrong, and deep down we all feel it or we don’t. It’s a shame, that morality and justice have fallen so far down the line of what matters.
We are numbed by it all. Your write is a reminder to each of us that the frustration is universal. Your voice is true, and easy to agree with. -
Powerfully penned, Fia. A very heartfelt write my friend. It’s scary because history is being repeated, and most know those endings had major consequences. We’re witnessing actions that won’t be undone easily or can’t be undone at all. We’re all feeling the weight indeed. I can definitely relate. Appreciate you, cuz.

These are the thoughts that shorten my nights and keep me exhausted. I have a whole folder of pieces I’ve written trying to capture these thoughts. They’ll just stay parked in that folder because after a while it just starts to feel like more of the same and I’m tired of my own voice. The numbness isn’t enough cover the pain, that’s for sure

Wow, this is extremely thought provoking.
Thank you so much for putting this out there to reflect on.

Fia this is a poem of great clarity and immense originality. I have read others on the dark times ahead but this poem held me rapt and fascinated. Fine scribing.

Well, Dear Fia 🎭
Life is a stage upon which unfathomable joys and dramas are played-out; often, unexpectedly enchanting or equally as painful … and, we seldom know what the outcome of looming scenes will be.
Still, when the heart is filled with joy, the saddest moments are those when happiness bows out.
It may seem odd to compliment one’s poetry when it’s so forlorn … yet, I must acknowledge your knack for using words to paint vividly relatable emotions and sensational feelings upon the canvases of our own hearts ‘n souls. Still, we know so very well how friends often hug and make up, eh?
Beautifully, sorrowfully rendered, Dear Poetess! ⁓ Richard🖌
(Nits)
Diction: consider “heeded, And, who”.
I am that friend that will back off when heeded
And, that friend who takes the call when neededDid you mean “off” course?
things have gone of course(love your writing, of course) 🍷

hello beautiful Fia I am often too needy probably due to childhood traumas so I hold onto relationships that no longer work because I usually need people more than they need me… also I am very intense which is hard to take if you happen to be that rare person I let really know me…it’s always been that way with me I do better one on one than in a group setting the group mindset has ruined more than one of my friendships…people usually desire to be popular instead…I will never fit within a mold I have tried earnestly but society is unyielding with all it’s codes and judgements…almost all of my friends have been more like you in that you are a strong personality and you would be honest with me…I appreciate that trait…I love being social but shy away from it because I have no filter and I’m no good at it…anyway keep being you and I feel you on feeling behind the scenes even when it hurts not to show it…I admire that abilty it’s all too evident on my face when I’m hurt great write ❤️

Powerfully penned, Fia. Well this one grabbed me by the heartstrings and I can definitely relate to the subject matter as you well know my friend. The dreaded “Our friendship ran its course.” Been on both sides of that equation, neither was fun. I’ve had it said to me mostly, I’m loyal to a fault as well. The only time I said it was as a means of survival. Excellent write. Sorry you’re having to go through this. Appreciate you, cuz.

I’ve found that people don’t grow at the same pace. And when one outgrown the other, it causes growing pains most unexpected. I’ve experienced this from both sides and it sucks from every angle.
-
This is an incredible piece.
A soul-crushing insight into how connections can get so complicated.
I use to have close friends until I out grew them all. And now, I find it better to be alone and enjoy my own space.
What I did notice is that most of my friends turned against me as I outgrew them. Tragic its own way.
Not everyone can stay the same forever. We all grow and embrace the changes that we become. x

Your poem resonated my experience with friends I caught up with after years of absence but who dropped me quickly after a brief reunion. The emotions here are strongly conveyed with super poetic flow that carried through like a sad but exquisite dream. You write your heart so well my friend.

First, I hope you had a fantastic and soul-filling birthday. I have read this one 3 times now. I finish, sigh, scroll back up and read it again. It sinks into the mental marrow and stirs thoughts. You are a master of layers, my friend. I’m glad this one bubbled out of the “not yet” vault. It needed sunlight and shadows on its bones
-
Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It was a good birthday overall, played some piano, talked to J.J. Burton, and spent time with the wife and kids. Thank you for the b-day wishes. I definitely write in layers, probably because everything I observe has layers, including myself and humans in general. I come by it naturally I guess. lol. The “not yet” section has tons of writes in it, although some need work or at the very least a tweak or two. Always enjoy your commentary my friend. Appreciate you.

Captivating and intriguing piece.
You’ve got me hooked from the start. I was drawn to this by its title.
Strong choice of words. Exquisite in its own way.
A bold and daring read. x

Damian this song on mortality and the grim reaper was one of your very best. The sheer lyrical strength was formidable here. I loved every roaring line. You really made this come alive for me. I am amazed.

Thank so much for reading and your kind words, John. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I’m amazed after 35 summers of doing this writing thing I haven’t lost my love for the craft. I’ve had ups and downs sure, if I were to ever lose that love then I might have something to worry about. lol. Enjoyed your commentary. Appreciate you.
