Destruction does not happen it's created

I was born from two people who did not know what they created A force to be reckoned with, never to be underestimated.  As I walk into the room, all eyes are on me. Smooth like iceNot seeing the fire being set free What they don't...

    • fucking shit…. I left for a few weeks now you want me dead… ok im leaving

    • Um…duly noted. Definitely destruction incarnate

    • This is rather unsettling knowing the devastation that’s so common these days with active shooters. Very scary.

      • I did not want you to feel that way. Going with the prompt I created with Ambyr, He picked creation, and I chose to go with devastation. That encompasses Fire, Water, Ice

        • No problem. The poem has a lot of weight to it and a lot of fire in its delivery.

    • Powerfully penned, Fia. This is a change of pace my friend, you always prove there is no subject you can’t tame. It’s too close to call, you both delivered amazing writes. Appreciate you.

    • You nailed this one. No doubt about it. The kind of write that pulls you along in an inexorable tide of power and rhyme. I keep envisioning cement shoes while reading 😁

    When We Grow Older

Oh so much time has passed. As children, playing and laying in the grass.Memories like nothing else. With doubts, nonexistant and always false. With time,we grew taller. And we fell even harder. We reached the stars and skies, planets. We achieved the impossible. Now you are nearly 18. You wonder,where...

    You Touched My Heart Today

You touched my heart today And the memory made me smile I wish that you had been here too To share that smile with you   You come in unexpected ways Sometimes soon or in a while And an imprint on my heart is made And  soul...

    • This made me think of my dad. He’s gone but still here in my heart, in smiles & in laughter especially. This is beautiful

      • I think we all have that special someone for whom time and distance doesn’t matter to the heart 🌼

    • We all long for a love the heart remembers at random times and whiles, as if it was new 🌼

    • I’m sure it’s a quote from someone but I’m too lazy to google it right now and see but this reminded me of the sentiment, ‘those we love never truly leave us’.

    • This makes me think of the song “I’ll be there”, by The Escape Club.

“On the edge of a waking dream
      Over Rivers
      Over Streams
      Through Wind and Rain
      I’ll be there
Across the wide and open sky
      Thousands of miles I’d fly
      To be with you
      I’ll be there”

      • Just gave it a listen. The song wasn’t on my radar when the poem was written but I can understand being able to relate the two. I set words free into the ether and then sit back and watch as each gives their own connections to the words. Some things I’ve really worked over and liked barely received a blip of reaction. Some things have just come to me and I never gave a second thought to, and got raved over by comparision.

I liked this because it was short and sweet, spoke volumes in a pint size, and rhymed – which is a struggle for me, so I guess the stars aligned. For me it had nothing to do with death at all, but i can understand that too. Once you’ve set something free it takes on a life of its own. And that’s as it should be.

Thank you stopping to share a comment and the song 🌼

    • Well, now that everyone knows who my muse was, it makes me wonder why you told me to just keep it anonymous!
But you’re here now, so there’s no point in pining on about you with a silly poem – I’ve missed you!

Btw…You haven’t seen my Recchiuti Confections Black Box chocolates have you? Just wondering. I can’t seem to find them anywhere? 🌼
