As if you read my mind and what I was thinking as as articulate. 🙂
I almost got ht by one of those flagy pickups yesterday. 💚 -

WHOA!!! Some truth telling going on here. It didn’t fall on deaf ears, cause I be listening. America has always been 2 countries within one country. Today’s fascists were yesterday’s slave owners and slave bounty hunters. Thank goodness there are still wide awake decent people who in their millions took to the streets a few days ago. And even better, there is, beginning Nov 5, the determined, nonviolent, movement to oust these MAGA maggots’ regime.
Yes, it is often true in history that people were warned but didn’t listen, sometimes people just need to have a fire lit under their arses, before they can see straight. I think we poets have a role to play in this eye opening!! Your poem Willow is a welcomed salvo (or perhaps to be consistent with the metaphor), a welcomed match for that fire.
Thanks for the much need poem Willow.

Oh, I’ve been bellowing. A few here can tell you I’ve been mouthing these frustrations for a hot minute. We do what we can and encourage everyone to do their part, whatever that is. That’s how we make change. I just wish humans weren’t so determined to repeat their worst mistakes. History is the best teacher…which is why they’re trying to bury history. Don’t want anyone to see their playbook. Thank you, Curt

Raw and unflinching. You’ve caught the weight of complicity and the ache of resistance in a way that feels both urgent and true. An incredible read!
-
Okay, now I know. You not only know how to write beautiful, powerful words , you also know how to deliver them. I certainly want to speak to you, Willow. Please visit with me.

I’ve been expressing myself through poetry for years. Decades, really. Only recently been messing with spoken word. I’ve never been able to find anyone who could read it as I feel it. Some things I leave naked, no spoken word. Thank you
-
I certainly understand that. Not everyone here who has posted work reads it themselves. I do, but it’s because I am also an actor. I’ve spent my life on stage, in one guise or another, and I find it difficult to hand it to another to perform.
-
Due to personal issues, I am unable to voice them myself. I have to rely on AI to get it right. And it takes a lot of fight to get it right. I wish I could simply read them myself
-
Well, if there is anything I can do to help, let me know. That include doing the voiceover for you sometime, or a part of one… Anything. And I take direction well! Just don’t tell my wife I said that.

This feels like you wrote it from a cage.
Like feeling trapped and the only way to get some freedom from it was to write.
Writing for some is for pleasure, for others it is a must.
Intense write!✍️ -

Nice and dark Fia. I love the candy corn colored sky emerges line.
Death takes its bride one organ at a time. Sounds like horror to me and a good one for the halloween season. 🙂 -
Hauntingly penned, Fia. Look at you writing horror, excellent write my friend. Appreciate you, cuz.

Violent imagery & language apropos for an October horror film marathon. I’ve got some catching up to do, fer sure. Thanks for holding it down here at Stars Rite. Much appreciated!

It builds with a violent intensity.
Very apt for Halloween. But also death is always with us. All year round. You poem is very truthful.
Regards James -
Your reflections on this conversation with death are the stuff of great poetry. Your poem is deeply felt and strong in imagery that is as poetic as it is strong. Truly a great poem.

Oh Lordy! You’ve done it again.
It’s like you know what melody/hook to use depending on the tone of the lyrics.
Where to emphasize your message. I listened to this when you posted but didn’t know how to reply.
I was at a loss of words! That is rare! Hahaha
Much respect chica!

This i awesome. I somehow talked Fia into getting a Spoken Word group going (actually, I kind of bamboozled her into it). HER wants to join and she suggested we get Willow and you as well. After listening to this, I feel really out of my league. I’m a lifelong entertainer, but mostly in theater. When I started writing for performance, I had no music, just me, so that’s what I’ve been doing. But you would bring some real class to the group, and if we do this right, we can build something outstanding for all of us. Interested?

Hey, what happened to the audio? I sent a link to this page to a friend and he told me no song was here, so I came back — and it’s gone! Please put it back.
-
Apparently because of an update on the site, all audio on all posts got removed sadly. I hope I have time tomorrow to upload the audio again on all my songs.
In the meantime you can listen to the songs on my YouTube channel if you’d like: youtube.com/@Drieks

I feel that this is a calling out that we al can relate to, and be enthralled by. it’s an all consuming request that is determined and also inviting too. Like “give me that and I’ll give you this” type of trade. We write with emotions, so perhaps we look for emotions in return. Yeah?
Cool write, Fia. -
Fia, I could feel the entreaty of the woman as she beseeched her lover to give her words. I do agree the right words can make for a magical night in our out of bed. This poem speaks to me in a way that I could feel. Very well done.

Corruption and ignorance go hand in hand. Yes, I whole heartedly agree with you. We must see the truth and act on it. Powerful write.
