      Amen to that.
I’ll be back tomorrow to read it again.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Exactly, nobody is promised tomorrow. Appreciate you, cuz.

    • That last stanza sends this one home. Wonderful piece Damian.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. My favorite stanza as well. Appreciate you.

    • Dear D,

Inspirational to be sure. This write was a movie short where I could envision the hero if the piece roaming from one stanza to the next recognizing the differentiation of God and truth vs ai and evil. Great write. H🌷

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, H. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Thank you for sharing that wonderful vision with me, I like the lens you’re looking through. Appreciate you.

    • ” Shadows on the wall are growing

Coming to poison what God built ”

Those words were written with a hammer and chisel.

      Dope overall vibe
      Diggin the positive outro, brother…

      Much respect

      Naaj

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Naaj. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I dig those lines as well. Thank you for your continued support my brother. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • Sigh…where to start? I agree with Naaj up there. 👆 Those lines are definitely carved in granite. There’s a loss of humanity occurring on so many levels today. AI is replacing human labor, taking human paychecks and means of living. But AI does what man tells it. It’s not out there knocking on doors and handing out resumes. It’s the greed of man dehumanizing their fellows that’s doing the damage. The fact that we have a deranged overstuffed cheese puff feeding frenzy to his blind acolytes speaks volumes for the state of man’s moral compass right now. Every decision they’re making is destructive…to the earth (our host) and to its guests (us and wildlife). Yeah, I got rolling but this one took me to so many places. Keep carving those lines, my friend, and I’m sure I’ll keep ranting

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Like I told Naaj, I love those lines as well. I agree with you as I tend to do, I saw a story today where Chat GPT is causing people to commit crimes and hurt others and themselves. It needs to be regulated at the very least, but that ain’t happening with the Cheeto in power. These tech bros are accessories to the most corrupt regime after all. Man’s moral compass is damn near broken. lol. Always enjoy your commentary, even though I get you riled up. Appreciate you.

    • This is so sweet I am sure they are going to love this.

    • Hahaha. This is brilliant my friend.
Where would we be without being inspired!
It just feels so good when we catch it, you know, that special feeling to grab our pens like wands and connect it to paper.
This write has my brain firing on all cylinders amigo!
      Thanks for the blood/love rush!
      I am honored:)

And Honoria is one of my favorite human beings.
You have me in great company!

    • Dear R,

I enjoyed the edginess of this write and the spotlight on two fabulously lovely people who’ve supported all of us in kindness and encouragement. Fourth stanza was very reminiscent of the previous site and watching A and S grow their love. Truly wonderful write of love. While I’m quite sure I’ve done nothing with the regard to the inspiration of this piece to get written, I’m happy to kick anyone’s back side if it gets them to writing! Beautiful poem.😘 H🌷

    • Dude, I’m at a loss with what to say. Yes, that happens. Lol
As I said the other day, I have an online friend for over 25 years now, because of creative writing. We all may write alone, but we revel in it in little groups.
Saturday I went day-drinking at the VFW with some other veterans. It’s been awhile and they let me know that I was missed.
An online site has much the same sentiment. it lets you know that you do matter, even a little bit. So thank you, Rob. It’s mutual.
Who knew back then that me and that punk Del would become a couple! LOL (yes, we call each other punk a lot).
A side bonus of it all is that we both got to see how “real” the other was. No fake persona, no BS. We are what we write.
I do try to be sincere and I suppose Del is validation of that.
Happy New Year, Rob. ’26 is an open world of opportunity. Snatch it by it’s hair! lol

    • This is a dark piece, but it is really good. Thank you for sharing it.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Fia. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I know it’s kinda dark, it came out of nowhere. lol. I’m in a good mood still. Appreciate you, cuz.

        Damian

    • Well look at you being all dark after Christmas:)
Each section had its own dark point of view.
I really enjoyed the stanza about evil hiding in the mundane
It reminds me of the saying in the Bible. Idle hands are the devils workshop.

      Great piece amigo!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Adel. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Also my favorite stanza as well. I was kinda going for the idle hands vibe. Wasn’t meaning to be dark at all, this write came out of nowhere. Appreciate you.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Keith. So glad you connected with the write my friend. It certainly spawned out of nowhere. lol. Appreciate you.

    • A bittersweet piece, so beautiful and sad! I am glad that you reassured us that you are doing well , dear Damian!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Elke. So glad you connected with the write my friend. Well I didn’t want anyone worrying about me, and I was happy while I wrote it. It’s kinda like a rain storm while the sun is still shining kinda vibe going on here. So bittersweet fits it perfectly. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • This reads like a slow descent through psychological aftermath—the kind that doesn’t announce itself loudly but corrodes over time. The imagery stays grounded while the emotion escalates, especially the idea of evil hiding in the mundane. Quiet, heavy, and effective.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Thomas. So glad you connected with the write my friend. You got all that out of this write? lol. I’m just joshing you. Seriously though, your commentary really means a lot to me as well as your continued support my friend. You’re a gifted writer and I’m a fan of yours as well. Appreciate you.

        Damian

    • I can see why others see this is dark, but I read it more as a reflective piece on darker moments. Like sitting under moonlight and remembering full darkness of troubled days…having just enjoyed the warmth of a fire and full spirit. There are definitely elements that lean into darker aspects, but if we’re not peering into those corners, are we really paying attention, or are we just living in denial? To be all sunshine and daisies in the current environment is pure folly. I don’t see dark, I see the shadows that follow us wherever we go. The hope that we still find light. Follow that muse where it takes you, my friend. It never leads you astray

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I always enjoy your commentary, this one is reflective in a sense. Darkness does hide in those corners always lurking in shadow and watching our every move. To believe it doesn’t exist is denial I agree 100% Appreciate you.

    • this is extraordinarily noir if you don’t mind me saying .. just saying .. Neville
