Cul-de-sac Jones

Summary:
My surname means "black stranger". Out of the corner of my eye I see it watching from the shadows. It's when my better angel and personal demon are debating, and this third asshole shows up.
There was a shadow at dawn

and a growth in my death

a Black Stranger
birdwatcher

paying for space
with soul dismayed

a garden gnome
on a pile of stone
a-flowering sparks
from the formless dark:

a hinterland
education
bandwidth
break

a suburban
discernment
wavelength
split

living room
oracular
crop circle
drawl

your friendly
neighborhood
creepshow
crime
         watch
                   crawl

from a slow,
steady grave
I slave to the grind
of mastering the mind
within this eternally
ululating
power (mad) grid

my energy burns
in the demiurge Sun,
turning the worm
as bird songs die
on a dopamine high

cumulative traumas
in (largely ignored)
car alarm dramas,

how everything
ding ding dings
on freedom’s ring

an open air
soul farm
echo chamber
daydream screen

your average
flesh market
bypass spiel

this electric
thoroughfare
witness crowd

(the dark One
for whom the
fellahin bowed)

but there’ll be a
flowering
from my breath
and growth in
my garden
yet

and as sure as
cities die
on charnel winds

I remain here &
away-

a black stranger
backslider

praying for grace
with faith displayed

still slaving to the grind
of mastering the mind

    1. This caught my eye the most and I could not shake it. Looking for the higher power and as you look its like a rush of happiness. very interesting piece of work
