    Thoughts thought

    • Such a rich and layered piece. I love how it drifts like a dream, full of texture and sensation. The imagery feels both mysterious and intimate, especially in the way it moves from silence into warmth.

    • This is such a deeply moving piece. You take us there & there is a breathtaking place. I’m a sucker for dew-laden grass in the mornings.

    • Many thank yous, Willow. You have found what I tried to say without over-stating. Is said that feet soaked in dew remain innocent for life!

    • I could see this printed within a book. It’s just the right amount of personal note along with staying on a creative writing avenue. It’s mature (educated) yet intoxicating.
      Well crafted poetry.

    • I could go overboard with thanks, Styxian! I try very hard to get to the core of writing the use of my own words! I was initially a short story writer but now destined to try my hand at poetry. Not easy! Take care.

    • Hello FlatDaddy!

What a wonderful little story! I decided to read the text myself instead of listening to the recording. In the beginning it was a little confusing and hard to read, but after I while I developed a Texan accent! 😀 lol

      • I’m glad you liked it. I was an entertainer most of my life and this is one of my works I performed many times, sometimes for kids at the Austin Children’s Museum. Obviously, most of my pieces here are written for performance, but I have made audios for only a few of them. I will record others when I have the time and energy. Again, thanks — gal. If you wamt to hear that accent, try the Audio version here: https://starsrite.com/short-stories/the-tale-of-rabbit-jack-audio-version/
“Desert Wishes” is of the same type, but the audio seems to have disappeared.

    Reunion

ReunionBy FlatDaddy  OPEN: It is sometime in the early mid 1950’s in Waco, Texas. A little boy comes through the door of a garage to the dusty interior. There is something under his shirt. He goes to center stage where...
