    • The longing in this is palpable. Very beautiful writing.

      • Thank you, Alexandria 🙏🏼

Most gratefully for selecting this rather wishfully gentle poem in homage to unrequited desire.
How wonderfully encouraging it is to know you were able to actually feel the emotion of this piece.

Your gracious praise gratifies a bard’s humble efforts! ⁓ Richard🖌

    • Maybe so, Adira,

But, not quite as beautiful as You for sharing this rather lovely homage to romantic fate, with your ohhh-so warmly kindred spirit.

What would you want that you cannot have, right now?
One can only wonder and ponder ‘n wish! ⁓ Rascal🖌️

    • How did I miss this? First, I love the layout of it. Second, my favorite thing that you started out with is the mind. I was all on board. Third, you went and laid down brick after brick of gems. I enjoyed this piece. Bravo ;))

    • Ahhh, Adira🍷

Your gracious words speak in a most lovely, smile-invoking voice.

Thank you, Sweet Poetess! ⁓ Rascal🖌

    • Awww, Fia 🤗

That you love anything about my humble poetic efforts is blissfully unexpected, but I’m keeping every fragrant word. ; )
There’s nothing more preciously-inspiring than a lady-poet’s gracious praise to caress a hopeful bard’s grateful heart.

      Thank you, Fia, ever-so warmly! ⁓ Rascal🖌

    • Wow! Wow! Wow!
This is stunning! So fresh, unique, and enchanting. The imagery is so vivid and palpable. I’m captivated from start to finish… a magnificent ending. Powerful and seductive. An all-inclusive masterpiece.

  • Old Love (second thoughts)

Old LoveIt’s well I know of lonely nights …these ever longer days. Each time my lover's strayed-awayand I'm the one who stays.Lost rivers from my many tears …then, flowed to sorrow's seas, with plaintive, soft-sent sighs to thee, beseeching on bare knees.Too...

    • Oh-NO, Adira! 🥀🐝

If your sweet face should not appear upon my page,
I would feel a cold place in my heart …
      and, ne’er again I’d be warmed from your passion’s rage;
nor, will soft words, my sad pen impart.

Ah, Dear Lady-Poet, you’ve, indeed, a cleverly smooth voice, to so cunningly tease a bard and praise his humble little efforts with such feminine allure … your words, though brief, say much.

Besides, I’ve read your delightfully delicious poetry, too, ya know!
Thank you ever-so gratefully, Adira, for enticing my cloudy day to smile! ⁓ Rascal 🤗

    • Beautiful ink. Thank you for sharing.

    • Greetings, Drieks 🌻

It is a privilege and pleasure for you to share my humble poetic offering, and a distinct joy to receive your graciously encouraging compliment and expressed gratitude.

      With warmest blessings! ⁓ Rascal🌿

    • FANTABULOUS!!!
You are KILLING IT. Sooo Gorgeous and erogenously complex. This piece has everything in the way of poetic element… the consonance, the alliteration, enjambment, and meter. I’m particularly captivated by this amazing stanza:

“Comes ever to my waiting hope,
      unanswered, echoed calls …
      there’s no relent to this dire need;
too sad, each tear that falls.”

The piece is the personification of wailing need and disappointment.

    Entropy

She left him and he left her long before thier bodies did. There was no fighting  no acrimony  just a palpable slide into entropy, the natural way of all things to lose order and decay. Even relationships cannot escape it. Signs, oh yes they were everywhere. Seperate lives, separate conversations, fewer words, less...

    • I get this. I wish I didn’t. You bring things out that most of us won’t express. Thank you for sharing, Peter.

      • Thanks Alexandria for your comment.
Unfortunately, for those prone to self reflection, we are acutely aware of the five remembrances of Buddhism.
Just in case you have forgotten them….

I am of the nature to grow old.
There is no way to escape growing old.

I am of the nature to have ill-health.
There is no way to escape having ill-health.

I am of the nature to die.
There is no way to escape death.

All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change.
There is no way to escape being separated from them.

My actions are my only true belongings.
I cannot escape the consequences of my actions.
My actions are the ground on which I stand.
