Glen Arbor and an Inland Sea

Summary:
acceptance

Wind blows down Western Avenue
as I follow your memory home
waves crashing upon the shore of Lake Michigan
creating ice bulbs that make no sense
all the heartache has washed away
i feel you in the breeze
i’ll never let it go
holding your hand
as we stroll through the Empire
inside of our memory
forgiveness and tomorrow are all i see
every heart is going to bleed
so here we are in Glen Arbor
you and i
Glen Arbor on the shores of an inland sea
fresh water
sand dunes
close my eyes
skin touched by a gentle wind
nudging me forward to what i’ll be
i can feel
what I could not see
you and I
held to the hands of time
yes
This is what love can be

    1. I enjoyed this, Bat. A bittersweet walk down memory lane. From ‘love enduring beyond loss’ through the ‘healing power of memory’ to ‘time and inevitability’ and finally ‘acceptance.’ Side note: absolutely love the connection to nature, the way you use it to mirror your emotional journey. Well done!
