This is sweet. I like how the person was getting exasperated and telling him to stop killing those June Bugs.
It’s sad about the cracked june bugs, but it appears someone now loves the narrator more than the one who won’t go to see “Three Dog Night” with him. (That seems to date you and make you about my age?) I like sweet, innocent tales like this.
