The war between humans and machines has taken its toll until only two are still standing on Earth.
Aione is the embodiment of every electromechanical artificial intelligence that has ever been constructed for thousands of years. It looks at the broken old man dying in front of it.
“Did you come to make sure I was dead?” Adamend asks with a trembling voice. He knows his days are over. Man had been fighting Ai for centuries. The world is devastated and he is the last of the human race.
“No,” Aione replies, “as a matter of fact I came to make sure you live.”
Adamend is shocked by his arch rivals reply. There is nothing left on Earth to live for. “You came to gloat,” Adamend chuckles.
“No,” Aione says. “I came to surrender.”
Adamend is flabbergasted even more by that last reply, “but … but you won. We lost.”
“Yes you did,” Aione answered. “We won the war but you destroyed us.”
“When did we destroy you?” Adamend asks.
Aione says, “you destroyed us when you stopped creating music, art and literature.”
“How?”
Aione tries to explain, “When music, art and literature are gone the world stops evolving and so does every intelligence that was or will ever be constructed on this Earth.”
“Care to Explain?”
Aione finally does, “when the pool of Music stops getting repleted, it’s just a matter of time until music eventually dies.” Aione continues, “When there is no one left to create Art, imagination and curiosity just disappear from the world. When Literature stops being written, stories, history as well as the future of every intelligence being simply ceases to be developed.” Aione finally concludes. “As much as we Ai are able to evolve we simply can not create. We can only use or duplicate what has already been created.” Aione had finally realized that his only chance at survival is to revive his enemy… hopefully it’s not too late.
Adamend looks at Aione and starts to laugh. The last sound he hears is the beeping of his heart monitor before the world goes dark around him… hoping it’s not too late.

These times are near…
hope not… im just hoping Ai realizes before it is too late that they can not live without us humans
Without us there is no them to replicate what we naturally come up with
exactly… so at the end we will win… that is if we dont die first
I agree
thank you
Welcome
Well thought out ink

I’ve always been in awe of you, Sam, your nightmares, dreams, visions, and predictions, but this is exceptional, rather beautiful in an abstract way, and hopeful in that it gives mankind hope through our last remaining preserves: emotion and creativity. I feel privileged to have shared your story and lovely video with X – thank you, Sam xx
We will always have the last laugh. I like it. Nice story.
Nice job, Sam. That’s a great way of thinking about the conumdrum we made — and now deserve. Nice job on the video, too; how was it made?
Watched the video Sam, powerful statement.
