The Consuming Flame

HomePoetryThe Consuming Flame
Before this flame
 I fall again,
  Into shaken bliss,
 Adrift, trembling, consumed
  Begging to be hostage
 Of the current’s kiss,
  In your carnal heated waters.
I long to be covered,
 To drown
 In this dream of fire,
  I ache with pleasure,
Unchained, unbound.

Before that flame
 I rise again,
  Into trembling bliss.
Awake, breathless, consumed,
 Pulled by your currents,
Where your fire and hands meet me.
In your heated waters,
 I shiver, uncovered,
  To drift.
In this living fire,
 I bloom in your pleasure,
Still trembling… undone.

The flame now a fire,
 Your pulse in sync
  With my thunder.
Longing to melt
 Into you,
  Devoured, left asunder.
Take me,
 Claim me,
Burn me with your flame,
 Leave me breathless,
  Naked in your hands.
Shaken without a name.

I shiver in your current,
 Pulled fully into fire,
  Every spark you’ve lit.
Consumes me higher.
 Rivers twist and tremble,
  As I yield completely.
Your hands, your heat
 Claim every part of me,
Breathless, aflame.
 I fall into the wave,
Your name on my lips,
And the river carries us home.
