They told me to hold on

Becasue

Pain… ENDS

Eventually

They told me that

HOPE

was my saving grace

A warm blanket,

I could curl up in

So why does it smother?

Hope,

feels more like a weighted blanket

too heavy to bear

leaving me limp and unable to move

While dangling over the edge,

they told me,

hope

was the rope I should cling onto

My lifeline…

But for reasons I can’t explain,

hope

feels like a tight gripping noose

Leaving me gasping for air

struggling to find the strength to breathe

They told me that

hope

would lift me up

That it would arrive

like a powerful gust of wind,

swirling me out of rock bottom

compelling me

to rise to new heights

So tell me,

is hope

strong enough

to lift me from the hardened cement around my feet?

To me,

HOPE is,

a wolf in sheep’s clothing

a thief of grit and determination

a single bullet in the chamber

HOPE holds no power

It’s throwing your life into the wishing well and waiting…

for nothing

Hope

isn’t coming to save you

Hope is merely the illusion you buy into while time does it work

Time is the one with all the power

Tick, tock

Tick, tock

Tick…..

But pain ends, eventually…

Right?

      • Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Someone’s I just have to let the pain have a voice and it almost always comes out a bit intense.

    1. It does.
      But then there’s more.
Then that ends to election for more.
Life is meant to be a series of experiences, both painful and joyful. Savor everything.

      Excellent ink.

    2. I can hear years of experience in this. Always hoping but never seeing results….not even a hint of it.
      There’s good expression in this.
