Wrapped In Ash

HomeUncategorizedWrapped In Ash

Many a tear has to fall, like rain on shattered glass
each drop, a memory dissolving into the black
the world spins in whispers, half-truths wrapped in ash as we dance on the edges, never looking back

It’s all in the game—this fever, this chase
this hunger that gnaws at the bones of the sane
we gamble with shadows, bet against grace
losing every hand, yet we play just the same

The cards are all marked, the dice loaded with pain
yet we throw them again, hoping luck will pretend
to pity the fool who keeps counting the gain
when the house always wins in the end

Madness is patient—it waits in the hall
wearing your face, humming your name
it knows you’ll come crawling when reason has crawled
into the dark where nothing remains

So weep if you must, let the salt carve its trail
the game isn’t over until you forget
that madness was never the thing that you lost
but many a tear has to fall
