waves of emotion overcome me
and I am lost in the feeling
tender thoughts awash in blue memory rise
my heart turns soft and I cry
heaven is just a sigh away
beautiful understanding my sorrow seen
recognized by the angels I weep
they carry my prayers to the Father
who listens intently to my confessions
lingers the doubt I didn't do enough
my mind wanders and I fall
reality bends and time stops
I'm in a place of emptiness
I can't go back and I don't wish to go forward
the world contiues on and I am urged to move with it
lost in the static I stumble
my thoughts turn dark and I crumble
nothing is certain
so my soul surrenders
uttering my hopes to the universe
with a look back I step forward

I’ve been telling myself the past is not a destination. But it is a guidepost. Despite memory & fear, there’s nothing waiting there. Just an empty space of was-ness. The step forward can be terrifying though
