Romeo and the Priest

Summary:
Juliet has walked out of Romeo’s life

P=Romeo, what makes you so sad?

R=My emotions are my own why do you ask?

P=I hoped life was treating you kinder than it did before

R=Before when? When my love walked out the door.

P=Why not open your heart for someone new. The heart beats is this not true?

R=My heart beats for myself and myself alone. The door is shut. I will not allow another in my home

P=This is no life

R=You talk about life. How would you even grasp what I had, that did not last. She outshined the sun with a smile that melted the cold in my heart. Glowed in the moonlight beckoning me to come and kneel before her. You ask to much of me.

P=You have youth and time

R=I have been cursed with youth because as long as time permits with the memory of us. No, I do not want the pain of love.

P= It is a blessing that has been given to us. To give and share love

R= You do not listen when I tell you I am cursed. This heart beats for only one. She has left me to suffer. I do not wish to carry this conversation any further

P= I have tried my best to get through to you

(door opens)

J= Hello Romeo

R= Juliet…

    1. Cleverly penned, Fia. Excellent write as always my friend. Dig the Shakespeare vibe, also I’ve always thought you’re amazing at writing dialogue. Nicely done. Appreciate you, Cuz.

    2. I like new concept poetry & love the fact it is possible to listen to the words although I note this is not your voice Fia .. still it kind of fits with my idea of Romeo’s voice ..

      • Thank you Neville. I was sitting here thinking of how he would sound and feel if things were different. I may try my hand at writing a play, but I want his voice to stay true to the original. It’s a thought.

    3. All is lost for poor Romeo and he’s doomed to a lonely darkness, then… the clouds break, the sun shines again, and all is well. I love happy endings. Hopefully, it will last.
