Muse In Red

HomePoetryMuse In Red
Summary:
Copy & paste from my notepad mucked up all my formatting, so I'm reposting this. I cannot stand the auto double space between each line. There's a chaotic syllable structure here and when the format bottoms out it's even more difficult to detect. 8-7-8-7, 4-4, 9-7-8-8, 9-7-8-8, 4-4, 7-8-7-8 Thank you for your patience.

Muse in red to my labor blue
blood on stone true yonder finds
wending beam ’round the healing bend
cautious flames light cooling minds

connected words
snake & flower

serrated tongue for honeyed slaying
clever beauty cleft & splayed
salamandrine crawling under
stuck on point to mending ember

refining thew from tempered flaying
flowing gulp of purpled spray
skinning remnants torched asunder
struck a nerve on pale surrender

cauterized wounds
worm & tendril

they snake ’round the healing bend
sentient flames riding icy stead
blood from stone tomorrow dawns
now cooled to blue, my muse in red
