She was a junkie
she told her friends that she was going to get out of this apt that her boyfriend owns
she says there’s bad vibes there
she said that he keeps me hooked on smack
she wanted change
she wanted to pull away from him, seek help and move forward
she wanted to escape the city & get away from people, places & things
she decided to hang with her girlfriends one night
she was at her best friends place
she got the urge to get high
she most certainly did, a half hour later,
she was found dead on the floor in her girlfriends kitchen
she overdosed on something she found in her friends medicine cabinet
she escaped the boyfriend, his apartment & her own life
she now resides in an open field away from people, places & things

I know I enjoy reading dark stuff. But somehow I didn’t find this one amusing. I guess thats the point which you hit exactly in the bullseye. Well written buddy!
Hello M.E. No humor in this one. A straight up piece regarding addiction. Thanks for the feedback my friend.
Why do it at your friend’s place. Why not at a club or bar?
Done well, i felt for her
Maybe she felt comfortable at her friend’s house. No telling on what she was thinking, she’s now dead. Thanks Fia.
Powerfully penned, Keith. This one is a sad and unfortunate ending, but goes with the territory of addiction my friend. Appreciate you.
Damian
Thanks my friend. Appreciated!!
Such a sad ending..I know and love someone who struggles with addiction. I hate it, but like Damian stated before me, it comes with the territory. Well written Keith. xx
