One Hundred years ago to the day there were three distant relatives whose names were
Flora Daisylily, Daisy Lilyflora and Lily Floradaisy,
they lived in a house covered with daisies, lilies and other flowers
Since they had no immediate family and no formal education,
they would often be loud, vulgar and crude to people and to each other
They lived off of a main highway, during the daytime they picked up things that motorists would leave behind or throw out of their cars while driving.
One October evening Lily & Daisy had an altercation over a used dingy pillow
Daisy struck Lily with a broken tailpipe she had previously found and killed her
she had Flora bury her in a field near their home. They called the area the Withering Wasteland
This incident caused Daisy to become a religious fanatic
A few days later Flora took a drink from a bottle she found off the side of the road
shortly thereafter, the bottle of cough syrup must have been contaminated,
she died during the night
Daisy conducted a funeral service by herself that lasted the entire day,
she buried her near Lily
The next winter she caught a germ from sleeping on a filthy, decrepit mattress she found on the side of the road
A few weeks later,
two people who succumbed to a flat tire, began walking into the woods and found the remote home
the door was partially open
they walked in and found the woman sprawled out on the filthy, decrepit mattress dead
her flesh was being gnawed by rats and other vermin
they saw a brick-a-brac they liked, snatched it and left
they never mentioned the corpse they discovered to anyone
who knows if anyone found Daisy’s remains
