I am a defective copy, a dead stock
A discontinued model, a shelf-warmer
Disability – a blessing and a curse
And I am in the best of company
Hephaestus laughs and limps away
Mobility-impaired god, son of Hera
Creator of great artworks and tools
Imperfection: birthplace of creativity
I walk in the footsteps of Teiresias
Guided by my intuition and inner eye
I see things I’m not supposed to see
Clàirvoyance is my gift from the gods
The healing power of compassion
A precious lesson of my disability
Kintsugi: repairing with the gold of love
To underline the beauty of imperfection

Chère E.,
Is there anyone here who can help you up your self esteem? Please let us no (!).
Because I think you’re wonderful.
And it goes for a whole lot of things too.
There’s so much robotic uniformity going around that I’ve learned to love the not quite perfect edges.
Keep on keeping on, please.
Warmest regards, Gus
Wabi_Sabi to you Elke
😘
Your one of the most sincere and honest people I have ever met. If anyone insults you, tell them to piss off! This poem is meaningful and real. Nice work Elke..xo
Passionately penned, Elke. A very real and honest write my friend. Sometimes humans are just flat-out mean. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

Hi elke,
People are suffering with misunderstandings that are coming out because of staying away and not a word to speak with. I don’t feel when someone outside says anything to me but people I do care and loved if missundertand me then that is the great pain which i can’t bear. People are moving away from this earth and few are getting away with distances, in this short life if we lose people who are your beloveds then that is the greatest loss to me. Money can be earned but when you lose people you can not get them back.
I know your pain. I am sorry in any way of it hurted you.
Your emotional poetry is upto the mark and haven’t seen with much efficiency before from any.
Jessy Jacob ❤️
I’ve read so many times that disability is actually a misnomer. When one ability is dimished, another amplifies, making it altered abilities. I watched this with my father struggling with his MS as I was growing up. To think of anyone as less anything due to differing abilities is the height of arrogance and narrow mindedness. I’ve long embraced differences and differing abilities. When one is unable to walk, look how far their words can take them. When one can’t see, look how strong their hearing becomes. Kintsugi souls, we are. Beautiful in our individual imperfections. Much respect
The best comeback for such things is a casual “fuck off” to them. You are obviously intelligent, for starters.
I am a high school dropout (GED later in the Army), and I am pretty well rounded with knowledge. Because I read so frickin much. Seriously. So I never discount anyone on any subject, because who knows what someone has studied in their spare time, even. Curiosity is one of the signs of higher intelligence, yaknow.
Hell, your creative writing alone is proof that you are smarter than most! It’s obvious.
And this write is incredible. You are one of my favs for a reason.
