A face never to be seen again, has looked deeply into your eyes from a busy street, with some mute message which you will never be allowed the time or intimacy to comprehend.

Beyond all this,

unrequited destination

like strangers on a train

swapping wedding rings and

stories told by Gods of secret things

Beyond the longest mind platform,

in Regent’s Park twilight’s twin

barbed wire bouquets choke drunk throats

trying to sing nostalgia jukebox

Beyond pulse of broken metronome,

she tongued visions of lost kingdoms

her breath a monarch to my collarbone

Her lips bruised by skin storms

where mechanical male left no DNA trace

And me and my heart

we just knew
