Learning to swim

HomePoetryLearning to swim
Summary:
14th nano I took lessons as a child to learn how to swim and they teach you right away. Make Bubbles! It was deep for an adult but for a child it was like the ocean

I dove into the ice cold pool

Sunk to the bottom

A memory immediately surfaced

I was supposed to make bubbles

Being pulled and breaking surface

I looked into fearful eyes

“I forgot the bubbles”

    1. oh wow lovely Fia what a memory…I learned by myself when I around two I was in doughboy and I was holding the rail but the adults in the other end were drunk and making waves so I let go and swam underwater I don’t know how…you’re right the water can be scary… sorry I shared but this write brought back that memory…❤️

    2. Wow! I was never taught to make bubbles. But I was like a fish underwater and held my breath for long periods of time. Payback is a bitch though and asthma shut that down. Maybe because I never made bubbles…
