Independence Day

Find your independence day
No king could ever steal
But know the cost of freedom
Is worth more than is revealed
So wave your flag if you wish
Wave it high as winds allow
But if you think it only waves for you
You need to burn it now

Hold your independence day
Deep within your fighting soul
Just remember what you fight for
Will not stand on fading gold
So pledge your dear allegiance
Pledge it close to what is true
But if you limit where you give it
You need to lose it too

Know your independence day
Will continue when you’re gone
That is why you cannot keep it
From the ones who need the song
So share your bells of freedom
Let them ring for all to stay
But if you think they only ring for you
You need to fade away

    1. My grandpa was a WWII vet. He was proud to serve his country even on his last breath.
I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who said America has so many stages and phases.
It changes and evolves or devolves depending on your perspective. I’m curious to see where we will be in
the next ten years. One thing I’m certain of is America will still be here. It’s too big to fail like oil companies. lol
