the noise builds

whispers multiplyin to screams

my thoughts eat themselves

then they feast on me

always hungry. never satisfied

I trace my jawline with my thumb

follow it where neck meets skull

that thin line between

what I feel

and who I am

if I could just find the seam

where mind meets matter

press cold steel against skin

let the blade fall sharp

one clean cut

that’s all I’d need

to watch my thoughts fall away

to separate them from my body

one swift motion

to silence the commotion

leave the weight of madness

on the floor beside me

lighten my shoulders

from the endless chatter

numbness I’ve craved for years

palms pressed against temples

seekin the source of the noise

seerchin for where sanity unravels

the blade will sing
not loud. just sure
and when it drops

the world won’t stop

it’ll just keep goin

but I won’t have to anymore
