O’ that I were handsome,
buff as I want to be,
I’d sweep you off your feet …
steal all your love for me.
I’d be there beside you,
listening to your woes,
offering soft solace …
embraced through highs ’n lows.
We’d share each ardent wish
to cross our minds each day,
swallow your breathless sighs,
letting you have your way.
Paint the sky above you
soft fuchsia of your lips,
kiss their willing wonders …
all others’ they’d eclipse.
Strum you a melody
more precious than a rose,
sing you songs of romance …
curling your happy toes.
We’d lay beneath the stars,
speak love words without sound,
feel stirrings in our hearts,
with fireflies all around.
When moon’s gold soars hightest,
reflecting in our eyes,
we’d sweetly surrender …
make-love ’til first sunrise.
Those promises we’d make,
vows never to be broke …
Nature, there to witness
those golden words we’d spoke.
