Elevator Prayers (Senryu)

Summary:
I live in a mid-rise elevator building. Love my view, but hate the elevator.
Oh, please be empty
but if fate does not allow
at least have a dog

Numbers fascinate
so does the screen on my phone
wish I could greet you

Time passes quickly
Enter the slow-down machine:
the elevator

Let me ride before
the incontinent Great Dane
big stinky puddle

fine, stop on all floors
let the awkwardness increase
hi, effing hate you

Let 'vators evolve
light shows and custom music
whee, let's ride again

      • Thankfully the parking garage lets me escape the elevator most of the time. But sometimes when I need to go to the lobby to get mail, I walk down the ramps of the garage to avoid the dreaded elevator.
