We wrote each other into being.
You opened the first sentence between us.
The cursor blinked where your reply had been.
I keep rereading what you took back.

You opened the first sentence between us.
A draft waited longer than either of us.
I keep rereading what you took back.
The screen still warm with what we almost said.

A draft waited longer than either of us.
We learned each other in fragments and replies.
The screen still warm with what we almost said.
We wrote like silence pretending to be a reply.

We learned each other in fragments and replies.
Your certainty was already leaving.
We wrote like silence pretending to be a reply.
I keep rereading what you took back.

The cursor blinked where your reply had been.
I keep rereading what you took…
We wrote each…

The cursor blinked where your reply…
I keep rereading what you took…

The cursor blinked where…
I keep rereading…

    1. Hmmm, Dear Poetess? 🤔
      Seems we’re somehow destined.✨

And, that’s okay with me when the opportunity to partake of your sheer genius pieces of poetic originality dance so brightly before these beguiled eyes upon the page, so delightfully captivating my poetically bardic pleasures.

For example, take this Pantoum-like suite of Free Verse stanzas, where L2 becomes L1 of each successive stanza, and not only THAT, but with stanza line lengths eventually diminishing (one-by-one) until they, along with thought/feeling/emotion/hope/etc; all simply blink “out”, along with the burgeoning co-authored liaison … I repeat, “sheer genius.”

And, I envy your artwork choice, setting and holding the atmosphere’s spellbinding timbre from beginning to the final “I”, along with word imagery, emotional power, metaphorical magic … I could pontificate ’til my welcome is completely worn.

Let me simply close with a glowing bow of thanks for your gracious generosity in treating us to what a true original form of Free Verse poetry looks like! ⁓ Richard🖌
