Hello, and welcome to another update of Stars Rite News.
I want to start off with a couple of things that’s happening in the background, since I haven’t given an update in a while. What we are working on is definitely the audios for those who do the music and spoken words and want to keep it in their audio files. It’s taking us a little while to figure out what the issue is, but rest assured, we will get it straightened out and it will be saved in your audio library.
The next thing that we are addressing is some of the members would like their post to be “for members only” and not be read for those who are not part of the Stars Rite community. We are figuring out how to place a check box or something that you can click on to make it only for Stars Right members.
Now for the weekend update. Book Con has finally come to an end. The event was two days, Saturday and Sunday. My team was excellent at promoting Stars Rite to get more eyes on the site and more poets to join and of course promoting Hypo Frosts. This was our first event. It was a learning experience, to say the least, that we will be more prepared for next year. In saying that, when you have a chance, click on the Book Con icon on the top of the screen and you will see some photos of the convention. Those of you that I was able to have copies of their books were on the table, and I promoted your work as well.
Hyper Frost will be going through a lot of changes as well, meaning the production side. I will get more into that in the coming months. The magazine featuring some members, your entries were a hit and inspired writers who have not written in a very long time to write again. I’ve gotten so much positive feedback on your work, which helped direct them to the website.
I have also met three teachers who were so pleased that someone is out here promoting poetry. The schools are not finding it worth time to teach it, so the students are left on their own to decide if they will seek it out. One school, their poetry teacher left, and the whole class is devastated. Poetry is an art form that should be nurtured.
As for out story writers. There were so many independent authors there showing their work, I could help but smile. There is one booth I did not want to discover, but Fia always seems to find things unintentionally. The booth was promoting AI to writers who write fantasy to create their characters and have them have conversations with the reader. You mean have an AI creation that is from our imagination come to life.
He asked how do I like that? I smiled and said, “it was…ah…”
I did not have to answer because who I was looking for called me to them. But can you imagine that. Your character speaks to them and has a conversation that you did not create.
Just letting you know what is around the bend. Shrinking English departments and AI having conversation with the imaginary people you created.
