April 15½
Prayer for the Fake Middle of the Month.
Pray…
not to gods,
not to ghosts,
but to the middle
of this faking month,
this sagging spine of April
where the days begin to wobble
under their own weight.Pray for the midpoint,
the lukewarm center,
the hinge where nothing happens
and everything threatens to.Because…Read More

Raise a marshmallow to soon! It’s well past time. And again, another one that fits as well as the day it was mused, my friend

Great piece Damian. You’re the spokesperson for the demise of our country. This piece is remarkable.

While false idols continue to make war, this work summons a Jesus who refuses salvation and a Non‑Jesus who refuses erasure. They move like twin shadows, circling the wound the world keeps reopening. Nothing here seeks redemption. Instead, the performance asks who is allowed to carry a name that has been used to bless both mercy and violence. The ritual is not an answer, it is a reckoning.

Damn. I read several gut punches this morning, but, my friend, I think I will stop at yours because no other gut punch will top this one for now. Powerful read. Great stuff!

Damian, the sheer velocity of this as it rocketed through the false prophets that surround us and unveiled their true nature showed them for what the are. The rich man not having a crumb under the table for the poor and taking them for all they have. I could both feel and see this through the unflinching eyes of the great poet you are. You told it like it truly is behind the smoke screens. Appreciate you.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, John. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I’m kinda of obsessed with the truth that hides behind the smokescreens. I feel the obligation to expose what lies were meant to remain hidden I guess, always have, even as a younger poet. Appreciate you.

slapping words into phrases
hoping they make any sense
breaking it into sections
so I don’t lose momentum
but my energy got up and went
and I’m left scrambling and outta breath
it’s one helluva workout…

April 15th – The Hour of Blocks, Locks, and the Moon That Refuses
April 15th strikes
not like a day
but like an hour:
15th o’clock,
a time that does not exist
and yet insists on happening. It arrives as a block,
a solid interruption
in the flow of April,
a square of time
that refuses to melt
into the rest of the month. Then c…Read More
