    Quietly I Ache

Quietly I ache to a reality I'll never wake. Though the glimmers of such soothes me, it is never enough to quell this heartache.   Quietly I ache, to conceal wounds, I truly cannot. Though it was a natural forethought.   Quietly I ache, tormenting aches of these...

    Friends

Jolie stared.      All night the stars danced in the moonlit sky. Now, these stars gasp in the dawning sky as the first rays of the morning star tiptoed through the field. Her last chance was leaping out the window....

    Torrents of Hallucinations

I am merely a black silhouette in the room. Something plagued by the dreaded psychosis. I am a burnt-out shell of my summery youthful self. These days every moment has a wintry hallucination – flurries of racing thoughts rage in the lacerating gales...

    • Really strong poetic rant which effectively points out that there continues to be a double standard when it comes to sexual deviance. I just finished a book called “Tampa” by Alissa Nutting which totally kills this topic in reference to predators. You should take a look at it.

      • Sounds like an interesting book. I’ll keep it in mind. There is a double standard for sure, but in some ways I don’t want to come off as victim blaming either. So many people all around get preyed on and the laws here are a joke at best. I mostly wrote this after seeing how many false accusations were floating around, and mostly it was one sided with no hearing out the male side.

Thanks for the read, much appreciated.

    • To apologize for a body part caught my attention, then I read this and understood where you were coming from. Interesting.

      • Yeah, I think sometimes it is like having to be sorry for being a man. Being attracted but having to watch your words, your eyes, your step. That makes it sound like women don’t go through similar issues, well really worse ones, but the poem is more pointing that out I suppose.

        Thanks for the read, friend.

    • Powerfully penned, Nick. I partially blame the media, well the propaganda that’s force fed to us to consume daily. Putting their narratives in our heads. Magnificent write my friend. Appreciate you.

      Damian

      • Yeah, I do think most of the narrative is public shaming rather than hearing arguments before judgment. I personally think we owe it to real victims to look at it as a case by case basis. But unfortunately society likes the easy way and the easy way is to shun.

        Thanks for the read, friend.

    • I appreciate reading the confessional poems out there, as a man given a penis by God, I can heavy relate. It’s not easy being a man and I’m sure harder to be a woman.

      • Yeah, I think unfortunately a lot of good men get thrown aside or accused because of toxic men and manipulating women. But as you said, many women deal with a whole lot of bull crap.

        Thanks for the read, friend.

    • In different ways, but for sure. I also get that there are a lot of toxic men that do put a lot of women on edge.

      Thanks for the read, friend.

    • Hey there, friend. I didn’t mind the me too movement I just felt it moved away from helping victims and became villainizing men. Also was kinda a trend where everyone was a victim regardless of the situation. I mean I think of the Taylor Swift incident where a groping was being seen as just bad as rape. It’s bad but not the same.

Thanks for the read. I very much appreciate it.
