ask if I should share…
or keep it hiddenhe quietly demures…
shakes his head and says…
he would not censure my words
that I own my verseI smile and sigh

don’t look at her
she’s not at her best just now
it isn’t the disheveled hair
or the worn out sweats she’s wearing
but if you study her appearance
you’ll see the struggle in her bearingin the way her eyes slide sideways
a magnetic repulsion effect
slipping away from any chance meeting

Terrific little write.
Having dealt with the darkness of depression myself I can feel your friends soul just aching for peace.
Bloody scary but the only way out of suffering is in….give your friend a hug from me.

When my friend explained the things they were unable to get done because of the debilitating depression, the doctor actually asked “Why not? Why don’t you just don’t it?” My friend responded (quite rightly, I thought) with “fuck you.” If they don’t understand they judge. When they judge, it adds to the damage. I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to just be kind to each other. Thank you, my friend
