    Eye Candles

Candles within your eyes, illuming my shadow.  Lonely in the dim I was, there is now a glow to follow.

    • This short and I can’t help to say aww. This is sweet

    • You know what I like about you, Daniel? You write and pour your heart out and couldn’t care less what others think or if you even get a nod or comment. You’re incredibly talented. Never stop being you.

      • It’s how I’ve been living… pretty much in the shadow for a long time now. I refuse to analyze too many of other poet’s work and I don’t like there being too much rigid structure on writing. I write how I feel and in a fluid, bending structure that allows me to complete whatever piece I want the way I want it delivered to the world.

        Thank you as always Alexandria,
        Daniel

    • Esoteric and beautiful. The image you painted here was filled with passion and beauty. Enjoyed this much.

    Memories Stir

A blanket of dust obscures our picture. Soft earth once your skin, now dusted with snow.   This sheet had layered over months without warmth. However, we are soon to hold each other again.   Then spring will dawn upon the rains of April and shower...

    The Seasons of My Mood

Regardless of summer joyousness, I will sense the overcast of wintry darkness.   Sometimes I will feel happiness, yet there is that which lingers smotheringly.   Always at the brim of my eyes is a teary shower   which glazes over my eyes and thunderous shouts...

    • I’ve never thought of it as like seasons before, but now that I have it is a strangely accurate description, especially when it feels more unpredictable. Maybe I should invest in an emotional tornado shelter.

    • Powerfully penned, Daniel. Incredible write my friend. Appreciate you.

    A Mother’s Hug Goodnight

Frigid, calm front hides in northern winds, the vast sky of my bedroom dims. Stream in winter Iced over, mother’s embrace letting go at bedtime.   Still raining, sky’s dark pillow, eyelids become anchors, smothering.   The cold front blanketing these damp lids, peacefully covers the coming storm.

    • Mic Drop! Preach, Willow, preach. Facts!! Into the book it belongs! Profoundly detailed assessment on how fucked up this whole situation is my friend. Felt this, gave me goosebumps! Appreciate you.

      • I had a moment. Followed by a rant. And this piece grew from that space. I can’t ignore it. Also can’t do anything about it. But letting go of hope just doesn’t feel right. Thank you, my friend

    • It scares me what’s going on. When the people really find out everything I believe it’s gonna be ugly. I don’t understand his supporters. Honestly I tried to understand but this is something right out of a brain washed cult. Don’t know how or even when this nightmare ends, but it’s clear the damage is already done.

      • They’ll do as much damage as they can before it’s over. More than we can probably imagine. It’s terrifying. I’ve never understood his supporters. Somehow trying to feels…slimy & corrosive. I keep a close eye on it & a closer eye on my loved ones. We’re gonna need each other a great deal in days to come. Thank you, my friend

    • The average American doesn’t even know how many females goes missing every year here in America. Where are all of these women? You don’t have to worry about the country, the universe has a way of resetting all wrongs. A country that blurs it’s divisions of government soon ceases to be a country. Allies have realigned and signed new trade agreements as overpriced food here rots in the fields. Great piece Lady

      • I don’t for a moment believe it’s a coincidence that the traffickers are now in full control of the country. Barely hiding their actions and blowing smoke up idiot asses at every turn. I’m filling my drafts folder with protests and anger. And no small amount of fear. It is strangely satisfying watching other countries turn away. The fool already bankrupted 6 companies, why not a country? Ugh… Thank you. I always enjoy your comments
