Another dark slice of the side of life most of us abhor and pretend isn’t there at all. It is so difficult trying to picture you there, my friend, so hard to think of anyone other than make believe movie made bums living hard, rough lives no real, educated man who writes so beautifully could possibly live among and be himself, hanging on to humanity by the slenderest thread. You show me parts of myself in these seedy climes, just another few tarifs or heists of my rent away from joining you on your morning quests. You bring tears to my tired morning eyes.

“trying not to get hit by their apathy,
daylight swallowing my quiet survival.”That right there sums up so much in this world. Identity means nothing without a trendy label to too many. And those struggling to survive, invisible. The undecided dawn was one helluva exclamation point on the situation. Another solid piece of reality

Tim….there isn’t much anyone can do to get democracy back to its original intention.Still, if we don’t keep writing about it,as you have here, then who will?
The old adage, ‘you get the government you deserve’ seems to playing out across all western democracies but especially so in USA where only money matters.
It’s taken a long time for the dollars and the bastards to get absolute power…they will never surrender it.
I’m still smiling and won’t let them grind me down.
Cheers mate. -
Thank you for speaking true and honest words in a world attacking the foundations of democracy more than ever before, Tim¡

Pretty much whatever they say to get elected is bullshit. All are guilty, too. There is no good politician in the higher echelons. I guess they can’t really be anymore. Too much chaos in all parties and at all desks. And yes, money is the controller.
We can hope for improvement all we want. There will never be, again. Just less bad, if we are lucky.Well delivered message, Tim.

Sharp teeth in a suit, and still the poem doesn’t flinch—love how you chew the rot of politics without losing your voice.
The grit of truth bites, but you carry it kindly, like a warning whispered in a smoky bar. -
Tim, you wrote the reality of the rot that is infecting America and much of the world with penetrating clarity and articulated poetically the shroud we are enveloped in. Truly a great poem about our dark time.

Passionately penned, Tim. Into the book it belongs! Excellent write my friend, you’re a great storyteller brother. I love pieces about music and this one didn’t disappoint. I remember the whole back masking deal, it all came to head during the Judas Priest trial. And then some people wonder what made the band write the “Painkiller” album after that trial. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

Thank you, Damian. I always liked hell bent for leather, livin after midnight, Nostradamus and other songs. But yeah, Priest was and is a great band. I do remember that trial. And I do remember Rob Halford having to sing on the stand to prove they didn’t influence kids to commit suicide. I believe Ozzy went through the same dilemma.

Totally hear you on this one. Proud GenXer (born in 74) but I was influenced by my uncle who showed me bands like the Beatles and Queen. Yes, there was something special about those bands that to this day still have an influence on everyone. The 27 Club has always been interesting to me, those guys (and gals) have left that last impression, tragic and mysterious and the “what could have been” leaving many questions unanswered. Whenever I pull some of this music in van my kids call it the Geriatric Rock, but it’s one of the greatest eras of music.
