    Emily Dickenson

There's a big old steel gate around her graveThough It makes no difference - crypt or cave'Cause clocks won't tell the time of dayTo those that sleep in dirt or clay. It's dark - it's deep - what's small will...

    • Interesting comment, Crimsin. Thank you.

    • I’m digging dark Tim!
These two stanzas build quite the image and feeling.
Truly enjoyed this other side of your writing:)

    • Well this is interesting! I love the tie in with her as the subject header. It’s a tight rhyme scheme, very clever.

    • Cleverly penned, Tim. Excellent write with amazing flow my friend. Nicely done. Appreciate you.

    • Tim as a huge fan of Emily Dickinson I can truly say this poem is uniquely composed and the crypt approach is an exquisitely new one applied to the great poet lady. You took me into her resting place with words that were vivid and strong and enveloped me in the sense of her final plot. Truly a wonderfully new and innovative view of the great poet lady. Loved this.

      • Thank you so much for all your kind comments, GM. I appreciate it. 🙂

  • Heave Silence

    words recede
    when darkness settles
and sound is heard only at the edges
    muffled though they be…
    silent sobs and absolute grief
    louder in my senses
than gunshots and shouts of jubilation
because we all know where hate takes us
but only some will see it
    guess it’s only visible…
from the barrel end of a gun

    • It sounds like moment of redemption. The darkness seems to have control it all.

It talks about gunshots, shouts of jubilation over hate, and staying “triggered.” It’s that “eye for an eye” energy where the fight never ends because everyone is “just warming up” to hurt each other back.

      • The only way to fight hate is with love and compassion. Standing together in the face of adversity and having each other’s back.

        • Yes exactly… With love always to defeat against the darkness that will not win. Good write keep it up .

    • The title sums it up. We all know where hate takes us. We do and some try their best to stay away from it and others well…

      • Others seem to relish it. Does make me wonder what deficit is within them that they think they need to fill it with hate. Thank you, Fia 😊

    • Daddy taught me how to shoot because he said it was important to know how to protect myself if I ever needed to. He also said the first thing I needed to know was that if I’m not going to be able to use it, it will be used against me so I should probably never get one. I’ve stuck by that philosophy since that day. Thank you, Brenda 🧡

    • I echo your thoughts Damian. I mentioned to a friend the other day that everything is corrupt now – Companies…people in business…the government…car dealers…you name it. It’s like we’ve gotten to a point where scamming people is the norm now. Great write my friend.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Tim. So glad you connected with the write my friend. That it is, everything is about turning a buck, with doing as little as possible. What’s saddest is it doesn’t bring them any happiness. Appreciate you.

    • Oh you know I’m over here furiously nodding and grabbing logs for the fire. I have come to the place of having to mute and cover the face of the colostomy bag. It’s not worth the heart palpitations and anger rising. I refuse to allow my health to be further deteriorated by that overstuffed cheese puff. Another marshmallow, my friend? I’m adding wood to the fire!

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write my friend. I figured you might get fired up reading this one. I’m so tired of trying to figure out who’s still buying this bullshit, it can’t get anymore obvious that he’s out over his fucking skis, he’s beyond compromised at this point. I could go for a marshmallow. See you at the bonfire. Appreciate you.

    • This was not only powerful but very relatable because many of us are feeling the frustration, watching the corruption take place. But you’re right, it won’t end nice and then more of the atrocities will unfold.
Thank you for sharing. Great work.

      • Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Wally. So glad you connected with the write my friend. The corruption is off the charts and I agree more atrocities will unfold unfortunately. Appreciate you.
