• April 26th – Water, Dust, and the Space Between Us

    April 26th returns
    like a remote memory,
one of those pale, trembling ones
    that no longer knows
    if it belongs to you
or to the air around you.

    It brings back
    what it was
    between the two of us,
    not the words,
    not the gestures,
    not even the moments,
    but the texture of it,
    the faint…Read More

  • Silence

    Sit in silence
    Watch and observe
They tell you things that are unspoken
    As they are speaking

    Hidden truths
Covered in a blanket of lie’s
    Design to confuse

    Practiced smiles
    Paired with dead eyes
    You wait…

Wait to see what’s the hook
    What’s the product
    What’s the goal

    There is only one purpose
    When you approach…Read More

  • Once: No Going Back

It’s the 25th day of Poetry Month,
    and this must be said
    with the honesty of reality.

    There was hope once,
    it flowed easily
    from Summer’s green fields
    strewn with wildflowers,
    to Winter’s white,
    with snowflakes of individuality.
But, it was a false hope,
    one seen through illusion’s eye.
    A lie,
    told over and ove…Read More

  • Reality of Now

we could spend our time talking
catching up on our day to day
    going over little details
    cover the minutiae

but that seems like such a waste
    we have…right here
    right now
    no more than that
and who knows when you’ll be back

    so let’s drop the illusion
    that there’s any more time…
    than…this

    life offers no gu…Read More

    • We used to say “seize the day, seize the hour,” and after reading your poem Willow, I might add, “the time is now, seize the power”. The power of camaraderie and not allowing anything to stand in the way. I think Anise Nin would be happy with your poem, Willow. It is alive with the passion of sharing experiences of the now. Beautifully written, Willow.

      • Honestly, now is all we can really be sure of. If we don’t invest in it fully, there won’t be much of a tomorrow, will there? Thank you, Curt

    • I love these present poems. Don’t think about the past or future. think of the now. love

  • The Day of Unbearable Truths

    25th wakes up
    with the taste of lies
    still warm on its tongue.

    Not grand lies,
    not operatic betrayals,
    but the small,
    intimate ones,
    the ones spoken softly,
    the ones wrapped in promises,
the ones that sound like hope
    until they don’t.

    This is the day
    when the month feels
    an unbearable pain,
    a b…Read More
